Titan Keep Pumping These Out & I’m Loving It!

Osaki, Titan, & Apex are all managed and owned by the same folks. All 3 brands come out of the same plant in China, so you can expect similarities in quality and workmanship.

What I love about the chairs from Osaki/Titan/Apex is that they’re of a high quality, they generally pack the latest in technology, and best of all they’re affordable!

Also they’re releasing so many chairs that it’s sometimes hard for me to keep up! But that’s a good thing, because i’ll always have one more massage chair in my backlog to review. And that’s where we are today with the Titan Prime 3D massage chair! At first glance, i’m pretty impressed! 3D L-Track rollers, dedicated calf rollers, 6 auto modes, and an extendable foot rest. What’s not to love!?

5 Features I Love On The Titan Prime 3D Massage Chair!

#1 3D L-Track Rollers Pack Some Serious Punch!

Rollers, rollers, rollers! What’s all this talk in the massage chair world about rollers!? Why are rollers so important? Let’s understand this better, because it’s important.

Rollers are the one component in a massage chair that are responsible for delivering 70% of massage to your body. Airbags will be responsible for the remainder.

It wouldn’t be far fetched to say that rollers are very much the “brain” of a massage chair. So that’s why all this spiel about rollers in all of my review posts!

Anyways back to the Titan Prime 3D rollers…..there’s 2 things to talk about here:

3D Rollers - What Are They & How Do They Function?
Titan Prime 3D RollersThere’s 3 kinds of rollers available in present day 2020: 2D rollers, 3D rollers, and 4D rollers. 2D rollers move up and down on the x and y-axis. 3D rollers are an upgrade from 2D rollers in that they can move in the z-axis also. This z-axis movement is basically the feeling of rollers protruding in/out of your back. The arrows in the image above depict how 3D rollers function.
L-Track - It's All About The Extended Coverage!
Titan Prime L-TrackWe looked at 2D/3D rollers. These describe the various dimensions rollers are able to move in. Roller track looks at the total distance a set of rollers can traverse. The longer this distance, the better as it basically means you get more roller coverage. This is exactly what you get on the Titan Prime 3D! It has an extended L-Track which is able to go right down to the glutes!

#2 6 Auto Programs To Keep You Busy!

Auto massage programs are awesome because they require no preliminary setup or adjustment. You simply select the program you desire from the remote control and boom…..enter massage world!

The Titan Prime 3D massage chair comes loaded with a total of 6 auto massage modes. These are energy, sport, relax, wake up, stretch, and swings.

Titan Prime 3D 6 Auto Modes

These 6 modes vary from one another not only in terms of intensity and massage strength, but also in terms of massage stroke employed. Which one should you pick? One way to figure out the right mode for you is to go through all the 6 modes when you get the chair. Try them and then decide which ones you like and dislike!

When you run an auto massage routine, you can do so for a duration of either 15, 20, or 30 minutes at any given time.

Titan Prime 3D Timer Setting

#3 Dedicated Calf & Foot Rollers!

An area that most massage chairs lack is that bottom half of the body. Most massage chairs are not very good at massaging the lower extremities of the body specifically beyond the waist and hips.

What most manufacturers do is they try to compensate this by adding a ton of airbags in these areas. I’ve found this design to not only be ineffective but also excruciatingly painful, as often times airbags will squeeze you to a pulp (even on low intensity settings).

I’m glad to report that this isn’t at all the case with the Titan Prime 3D!

It’s got dedicated calf and foot rollers which are specifically in place to massage the calves and feet. These are areas that the main rollers would not be able to reach (even with an extended track). Titan have also optimised their airbag design by reducing numbers of airbags and instead opting to increase surface area coverage. This is great because power consumption is drastically reduced!

Titan Prime 3D Calf Rollers
Titan Prime 3D Foot Rollers

Important Note: There’s not many massage chairs on the market that come equipped with calf rollers. In my opinion this is a massive advantage for the Titan Prime 3D!

#4 Extra Back & Neck Padding!

I know this is something you’ll immediately disagree with, but reviewing massage chairs can be a painful affair! Often times when I’m testing a chair out, I feel the rollers digging into my neck and back. It is therapeutic and it does really work the kinks, but it’s still very painful and sometimes not necessary.

This is where extra padding becomes especially useful!

And that’s because it offers you a means to reduce the intensity if it becomes borderline unbearable! If the rollers are digging into your back, you really have 2 options:

Reduce Roller Intensity—It’ll fix the issue, but it’s not always desirable because one may not want to reduce overall intensity on the other parts that the rollers cover (glutes, lower back etc.).
Use Additional Padding—To me this is a better option than reducing the roller intensity. That’s because you don’t impact massage intensity for the rest of the body. It’s definitely more flexible!

Titan Prime 3D Extra Padding

How many extra pads does the Titan Prime 3D come with?

There is a pad for the back, and 2 pads for the head and neck region. If massage is too intense, add a pad. If massage is lacking intensity, remove a pad. Pretty easy right? Takes some messing around with to figure out!

#5 Space Saving—A Small Home Owners Favourite Feature!

Small home owners are gonna love this! The Titan Prime 3D massage chair comes with space saving recline. This is a simple feature which allows you to save a lot of space from the wall.

The clearance required for the Titan Prime 3D is 5” from backrest to wall!

Titan Prime 3D Space Saving Recline

How does space saving work? It’s pretty simple. As the chair reclines backwards, it slides forward on its base thereby saving some extra inches in the back. Not the most exciting of features, but it’s definitely worth having especially if you’re constrained for space.

Titan Prime 3D Massage Chair Pros & Cons

Pros—The Stuff I Like!
Cons—The Stuff I Don’t Like!
    • Absolutely Loving The Price Tag!—You’d be hard pressed to find a 3D L-Track chair cheaper than the Titan Prime 3D! Current pricing is definitely on point and then some!
    • Calf Rollers Take Things To A Whole New Level!—As I mentioned earlier, calf rollers are not something you can expect to find on most massage chairs. In the 50-60 odd chairs i’ve reviewed thus far, 95% of them don’t have calf rollers. Are calf rollers important? You bet your bottom dollar they are! They’re way more effective than airbags painfully pulsating against your calves!
    • Flexibility From The Extra Padding—The additional back and neck padding is a nice touch. I like that users are no longer constrained by having to increase/decrease roller intensity. Instead they can make use of the padding based on their preference.
    • No Cons!—For what it costs, I honestly think it would be extremely harsh to critique the chair. That being said, I still think it’s worth mentioning. 6 auto modes are on the lower side for me, and it would be nice if the chair had about 10 auto modes. Also the heat therapy on the lumbar area is great, but it would be nice if the chair also came with foot and neck warmers. Again, the above are the only 2 things, and that too i’m being very harsh!

Here’s How The Titan Prime 3D Compares To Other Massage Chairs!

For the sake of simplicity, we will be comparing the Prime 3D to 2 other 3D L-Track massage chairs. To give you a feel, we will do a comparison against the Osaki Pro Admiral and the Titan Pro Jupiter XL. Both are 2 fantastic 3D roller chairs you can currently find on the market!

Osaki Pro Admiral

Osaki OS Pro Admiral Comparison

A new release but already a genuine contender for “best 3D massage chair”. It’s got 16 auto modes for Pete’s sake! That’s enough auto modes to keep you busy for half the month!

Titan Pro Jupiter XL

What Chair Should You Buy?

The Pro Admiral and Pro Jupiter XL are definitely better in some areas than the Prime 3D. This is especially true when it comes to user flexibility and auto modes. The Pro Admiral is a beast when it comes to auto modes!

However, there are also areas where the Prime 3D is superior than the other 2 chairs. For one, the calf rollers which both other chairs lack, and two and most importantly the price!

Earlier in the post I said you’d be hard pressed to find a 3D L-Track chair that’s as cost effective as the Prime 3D. Here’s the evidence to that!

All things considered what chair should you buy? In terms of functionality, you’ve gotta decide what’s important to you. If auto modes and user flexibility is of utmost importance, go with the Pro Admiral or Pro Jupiter XL. If you’re on a tight budget and want a chair that’s incredibly cost effective, then go with the Prime 3D.

Whichever way you go, all 3 are fantastic chairs!

Offline Or Online? What’s Better When Buying Massage Chairs?

There’s no black and white answer to this unfortunately. With buying in store you can actually try the chair out, see how it feels on your body, and then decide before making the purchase. You don’t have this flexibility when you buy online.

However, online has a ton more selection of chairs (some chairs are online exclusive) and you can usually score better deals. With the whole COVID-19 situation, offline or in-store is no longer an option for most people. I will say this:

Don’t be in a hurry to make a decision!

Do as much research as you need, and take time before making your mind up. The more research you do, the more likely you are to find the best possible deal that’s out there. That’s honestly the most important thing you should takeaway from this post. Don’t make decisions out of haste!

All that being said, I wish you luck in your quest to finding a massage chair. If you have any questions about the Prime 3D or any massage chair, please do not hesitate to leave a comment below. 1. Hi I’m debating this model vs Osaki TP 8500. Which model is stronger in terms of massage intensity? I know that this is 3D and 8500 model is 2D but does that make a huge difference? Thank you

    1. Hi Ling,

Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving a comment. In terms of massage intensity, 3D chairs will always offer more flexibility because the rollers have the ability to protrude in and out. This dimension is not available on 2D rollers. If you’re concerned with intensity, the Prime 3D will be the better option if you ask me. Let me know if you have any more questions!

  2. Eve,
I am leaning heavily toward purchasing the Titan Prime 3D, I am 6’1″ tall and I am wondering if this chair scans/measures the body type and if it will get my neck/head/traps? Let me know what you think.
    Thank you so much.
Also would love to see a review on the Titan Pro Alpha if it is available to you, thanks again.

    1. Hey Sean, nice to see you on here again! I think you should be fine with the Prime 3D although you’re right at the edge. Is it possible to try it out somewhere before buying? I did a review on the Alpha just the other day actually. You can find it here.

Also, I do not see that the Prime 3D has body scan.
