What Is The APEX iCozy?

As the name suggests, this is a cute and cozy little massage chair. But don’t be fooled by its size, for big things come in small packages!

Simply said, the APEX iCozy is a compact, multipurpose massage chair. One person may use it for gaming, while another may use it as an everyday couch to watch TV and movies on. Because of its small and lightweight frame, the iCozy is also the perfect chair for a minimalist.

In terms of massage intensity, this bad boy can do about a 6-7 on a scale of 1-10. That’s actually quite decent for a chair this small!

6 Things To Know About The APEX iCozy!

#1 It’s An L-Track Chair!

This is probably my favorite thing about the APEX iCozy. For those of you who don’t know, “L-Track” is a term frequently used in the massage chair industry.

To keep it simple, an L-Track chair is one in which rollers traverse the entirety of the back, all the way right down to the glutes.

The image below shows exactly this. Notice the exaggerated “L” shape formed by the rollers? That’s why it’s called L-Track!

#2 It’s Incredibly Lightweight & Compact!

The APEX iCozy massage chair weighs a measly 55 lbs, which is about 25 kg give or take. That’s peanuts considering most traditional massage chairs weigh almost 5 times more!

Because it weighs so little, placement and relocation becomes a breeze. In other words, the chair can be easily moved or transported from one place to another.

What about dimensions? This chair is 24.8” wide, 37” long, and 35.8” high.

That being said, this is the perfect chair for anyone living in a small area with space constraints.

#3 It Can Do 3 Different Massage Techniques

The APEX iCozy massage chair can perform 3 different techniques: kneading, tapping, and rolling.

Kneading

This is a circular rotating motion done on either side of the back.

Tapping

Tapping is a technique that involves repeated pounding of the surrounding muscles.

Combination

This includes a combo of kneading and tapping techniques.

In addition to the above 3 techniques, the APEX iCozy can also do a rolling massage along the entire length of the back, as well as a 3 level intensity thigh air compression massage.

#4 It Consumes 45 W Of Power!

One of the things that had me most impressed about the iCozy is its reduced power consumption. When it comes to finding a massage chair, most will completely forget to even look at power consumption. People seem to forget that power is required in order to operate all the “bells and whistles”!

To give you some perspective: a traditional S-Track massage chair with 38 airbags, and 7 motors will consume about 250 W of power. The APEX iCozy consumes about 5 times less!

#5 Its Got Heating Pads On Both The Upper & Lower Back!

This chair has heating elements on both the shoulder, upper back area, as well as the lower back, lumbar area. A heated seat not only feels good, it’s actually therapeutic and helps release tension in the muscles.

I personally have always found a heated back massage to be much more relaxing and effective than a back massage with no heat.

#6 It’s Very Much A Budget Option!

There’s those who are willing to spend thousands of dollars on a massage chair with the best rollers and the latest technology. And then there’s those who just want a very basic chair capable of delivering a simple massage and nothing more.

The APEX iCozy is perfect for the latter!

Currently priced at $599 on massage chairs, the APEX iCozy is very much a budget option. As mentioned previously, it’s the ideal chair for the minimalist consumer who doesn’t necessarily care about zero gravity, foot massage, 3D/4D rollers etc.

Here’s My Personal Take On The iCozy!

What I Like (Pros)

Not Just A Massage Chair!
One thing I love about the APEX iCozy is its sleek and stylish design. Because it’s not as bulky and large as most massage chairs, the iCozy can actually fit in with the rest of your furniture. Oh and did I mention it comes in 4 different colors? Light brown, grey/black, beige/black, and red!
Impressed By The L-Track Rollers!
Massage chairs that come equipped with L-Track rollers usually cost a fortune. But L-Track rollers on a chair that costs less than $1K? Unheard of in my experience! It doesn’t surprise me though, because APEX are known to have technologically advanced chairs at affordable prices.
The Reduced Power Consumption!
Most people who buy the iCozy do so because of its lightweight, compact size. If I bought it, it’d be because of the minuscule 45 W power consumption! If you’ve decided to buy a budget chair, you shouldn’t only think about price, you should also think about operational cost i.e. power.
The Fact That It Requires Zero Assembly!
Yes you heard that right. The APEX iCozy requires no assembly. The chair is delivered in 1 piece to your door. Only thing you need to do is decide where to place it in your home. Plug in and away you go!

What I Don’t Like (Cons)

Not Particularly Ideal For Larger Body Types
Being 5’4 tall and 120 lbs heavy, this chair fits me perfectly. However, this may not be the case for someone over 6 feet and 225 lbs. The APEX iCozy is designed to fit a smaller body frame. In a sense, it’s hard to even call this a drawback per say, because the chair has been purposefully designed with this intent i.e. to provide a snug and cozy fit!

Is It Fair To Compare APEX’s iCozy To Other “Traditional” Massage Chairs?

First off when I say “traditional” massage chairs, I really mean chairs that are built specifically for the purpose of massage. To give you some perspective, below are images of what I call “traditional” massage chairs.

All of the above were designed with only one purpose in mind: massage.

The APEX iCozy is different in that it’s a multipurpose chair.

While it can be used as a massage chair, it can also be used as a piece of furniture in a leisure, gaming, and even movie room. As such, I don’t think it’s fair to compare the iCozy to any other traditional massage chair. Its unique design makes it very different from all the others.

As the saying goes “compare apples to apples!”

That being said, i’ll refrain from doing a full comparison of this chair to any other for this reason. I hope you can appreciate my analysis and thoughts to this regard. However, should you disagree, please leave me a comment and let me know you thoughts. I can’t admit to knowing everything, and your feedback will definitely help me improve!

Should You Buy The APEX iCozy Massage Chair?

Because it’s very unique, obviously the APEX iCozy is not for everyone. More importantly, how do you know the APEX iCozy is the right chair for you? Hopefully some of the pointers below can help steer you in the right direction!

If You're Willing To Forgo Several Features
While the APEX iCozy is a fantastic chair, it’s very limited in terms of what it can do. It lacks the technology and features to really take massage to the next level. If you’re willing to forgo zero gravity, airbag massage, kneading foot massage, 3D/4D roller technology, and recline capabilities, then by all means consider the iCozy. However, you should be aware that it does have its limitations!
If Multipurpose Is More What You're Looking For
There’s traditional massage chairs, and then there’s multipurpose massage chairs. Traditional massage chairs are engineered and designed to provide the best possible massage. Multipurpose chairs are designed to satisfy several different variables, not just massage. For this reason, multipurpose chairs are not necessarily the best at massage. The APEX iCozy is an awesome multipurpose massage chair!
If You're On An Extremely Tight Budget
A tight budget and an extremely tight budget are 2 different things. For me an extremely tight budget for a massage chair constitutes spending less than $1K. At this price range you don’t have too much to choose from; it’s important to keep this in mind. That being said, the APEX iCozy is a phenomenal buy at $599! Hard to find a chair with L-Track rollers at this price!
If You Have Space Constraints
Space is something I used to take for granted until recently. Upon completing a 2 week vacation in Lisbon, Portugal, I have begun to realize how fortunate I am to have a decently sized home. In Europe, every square foot counts! When you’re tight for space, you have no choice but to pick something that fits. The APEX iCozy most likely will!

Closing Remarks To Conclude This Review

The APEX iCozy is a fantastic multipurpose massage chair. It’s compact, versatile, easy to use and incredibly effective. If you’re in the market specifically for a multipurpose chair, this is one you should definitely consider.

To conclude, below is a video from APEX demonstrating some of the previously discussed features.

If you’d like to know more about this chair, I can certainly help. Leave me a comment or send me an email (support@massagersandmore.com), and I’d be more than happy to find an answer to your question.

I hope you enjoyed reading and got some value out of this review post. If you did, please consider sharing on the socials. I’ll see you in the next one!
