Another Week, Another Review!

Last week we looked at Ergotec’s ET-210 Saturn (a 2D L-Track massage chair), and the final verdict was a hard pass. If you wanna check out that review, click here!

Over the years I’ve found myself becoming more and more harsh towards massage chairs with older technology – to be specific, I’m mostly talking about 2D chairs.

I think it’s justified though, because how can I recommend a 2D chair with less features when you get a 3D option with wayyy more features for the same cost and sometimes even less! So there’s a basis to my critiquing – at least I think so. Drop a comment and tell me if you agree/disagree!

Since we are on the theme of bashing 2D chairs, I thought why not make it 2 weeks in a row! Nah I kid. In all seriousness, we are gonna be reviewing the Titan Pandora today, of course with zero bias and a fresh perspective (as much as I can!).

Titan Pandora – Stylish & Sleek

First Impressions: Looks Real Sleek!

The Pandora is a 2022 release, and a sleek looking one at that too – if looks could kill, I’d be dead a thousand times over!

Be honest when you answer this – how much do “looks” come into play when looking at a massage chair? Does it need to be aesthetically pleasing, and if so how much? Or are you more about functionality trumping all else?

Drop a comment and tell me! I’ve always leaned towards functionality, because a chair that looks good but functions poorly is just a chair! Massage comes first, aesthetics and beauty is always second.

And to be honest, I’ve yet to come across a massage chair that’s downright ugly! I’ve seen a few that aren’t the best to look at, but I wouldn’t call them ugly – I think it would be too harsh.

Aesthetically Speaking, I’m Impressed!

It Looks Good, But Does It Perform? Here’s 4 Features To Know About The Titan Pandora!

Looking good is secondary – it’s a bonus if you will. How does the Titan Pandora perform, that’s what we wanna know right!?

There’s nothing “revolutionary” in terms of features I can point to, but that’s not always a bad thing. As long as it does the important things right, I’m okay. So does it? Keep reading to find out! Below are 4 features I’d like to hone in on a little more!

#1 8 Auto Modes, 6 Massage Techniques To Pick From!

For a chair that’s just about $2K (at the time of writing), I think 8 auto modes is decent. It could be better, it for sure could be a lot worse – like last week on the ET-210 which only had 4 auto modes (not counting demo).

Auto modes aren’t just about quantity, it’s important that the auto modes are diverse and well choreographed!

You can have 20 auto modes, but if they are all crap, then that’s no good also. I think Titan have done a decent job on the Pandora when it comes to quantity and quality of auto modes. Here’s the 8 you can pick from!

    • Wake Up—As the name suggests, this mode is perfect for getting your day off on the right foot! It combines shiatsu, kneading, and compression to stimulate those sleepy muscles.
    • Thai—Intense and then some! This mode employs both massage routines as well as stretches to really work out those kinks. Only try this if you’re able to handle high intensity massage!
    • Stretch—Similar to the Thai routine in many ways, but a little less intense. It’s a good routine to do post workout or sport!
    • Classic—They’re calling this a deep tissue routine, but I’m not sure I believe that. 2D rollers and deep tissue? Yea I don’t think so. Still a good routine nonetheless.
    • Revitalize—Employs a variety of massage routines to rejuvenate and reenergize your tired aching body. A good routine to try out mid-day.
    • Tai Chi—Focused on the upper body, this mode employs circular kneading strokes to break up fascia. A great one for those who suffer from upper back pain!
    • Joint Care—Low intensity routine specifically choreographed to focus on the fingers, hands, and feet. It employs the chair’s airbags as well.
    • Body Care—Another upper body routine that specifically targets the common pain points such as the shoulders and neck muscles.

The 6 massage techniques are: kneading, Swedish, shiatsu, tapping, kneading & tapping combo, and rolling.

#2 40 Individual Air Cells That Deliver A Complete Compression Massage Experience

How important are airbags in a massage chair? This is a question I get asked a lot.

In my opinion airbags are definitely important, but they are not the “be all end all”. The roller track and technology is far more important than how many airbags a chair has.

Why do I say this? Simply because airbags can only do so much – rather compression massage can only do so much. An inflated pouch with compressed air is limited in how deep it can reach, and it can only compress and do nothing else.

Rollers on the other hand can do a variety of techniques such as knead, tap, roll etc. So airbags are important no doubt, but don’t make it the biggest thing when looking at a massage chair.

What’s nice about the Pandora is it has 40 individual air cells. These all work in tandem to deliver a full body compression massage. I think this is one of the main features on the Pandora that sets it apart from other 2D chairs – the sheer number of airbags!

#3 Space Saving Recline Helps When You’re Tight On Space!

Another positive feature on the Pandora is something known as space saving recline. It’s a technology that majority of massage chairs feature these days.

Essentially, it’s the chair’s ability to slide forward as you recline back. What this does is allow you to save on valuable clearance space from the backrest to the wall.

For the Pandora, the required clearance is 3 inches from backrest to wall. Without space saving recline, this might have been close to a foot! Those who live in tight spaces (small apartments/homes) will definitely appreciate this.

#4 2D L-Track—Nothing Special Here

I debated whether to include this or not, because there’s really nothing special about the 2D L-Track on the Pandora.

Just like other 2D rollers, it moves up/down and side to side, and that’s pretty much all there is to it!

Concerning the L-Track, Titan haven’t specifically listed how long the L-Track is. If I were to guess, I’d say anywhere from 48-50” which is what you’d come to expect on most L-Track chairs plus or minus an inch or two.

The L-Track does give you that extra flexibility in targeting the lower spine, glutes and some of the hamstrings. However, you do lose out a little when it comes to stretch as an L-Track can only stretch so far out (because of the restricted track).

Titan Pandora 2D Massage Chair Pros & Cons

Pros—The Stuff I Like!
Cons—The Stuff I Don’t Like!
    • Operation Is Streamlined & Easy—One of the biggest things the Pandora has going for it is that it’s pretty easy to operate. It’s not only about the remote control being nicely laid out, there’s also the convenience of a side panel on the chair’s armrest that’s pretty handy when it comes to making adjustments on the fly.
    • Wireless Charging, USB Charger, Bluetooth Speakers—Basically a continuation from the first point about easy operation is that the Pandora also has these handy features built in. Of course none of these have anything to do with the actual massage, but it’s still definitely nice to have!
    • I’m Still Not Entirely Sold—And that’s mostly because I don’t like the price tag. The Pandora is a decent chair all things considered, but the price tag doesn’t align with what the chair offers in terms of features and technology. That’s my opinion anyways.

So Should You Steer Clear Of The Titan Pandora 2D Massage Chair?

Splash the cash or look somewhere else? Well, based on current pricing (on Amazon), I think you should consider something else. There are better chairs that may cost a little more (or about the same), but give you far more in terms of features and tech.

Let’s look at 2 examples below and see how they compare side by side against the Pandora.

  • Titan Pro Omega 3D

As you can see from above, both the Pro Omega & Pro Cascade are far more superior in most aspects when compared to the Pandora. Yes the Pandora does have more airbags, but that’s about it. Both of these chairs have 3D rollers which are far more powerful than their 2D counterparts.

Most importantly the Pro Omega is cheaper and the Pro Cascade is a little more expensive than the Pandora!

For me it’s pretty clear cut. I don’t see myself investing in a 2D chair when I can get a 3D chair for cheaper or a little more – depending on what I want. It just doesn’t make sense logically!

Final recommendation is to select one of the Pro Omega or Pro Cascade.

And That’s That – Drop Your Comments Down Below!

Nothing against the Pandora, it’s just that current pricing doesn’t add up. If things change and the chair becomes significantly cheaper, I might be compelled to revisit this review at that time. For now though, my stance is to steer away and pursue something else.

I hope this post helped you with your buying decision. If it did, please do consider sharing on the social platforms as it really does go a long way in supporting our site.

Last but not least, feel free to leave a comment letting me know if you agree/disagree – I love having discussions with you guys so keep em coming! Till next time friends.
