The Human Touch Bali is an impressive massage chair that features 3D rollers, 8 auto programs, 21 targeted techniques, and a whack of patented Human Touch technology!
Over the last 40 years, Human Touch have received tons of recognition and awards. In fact, they’re one of the only massage chair manufacturers to be recognized by the world federation of chiropractic for being a valid supplement to back therapies!
70-75% of massage chairs are unable to deliver deep tissue massage. Because of its advanced roller technology (more on this below!), the Human Touch Bali is an exception!
It’s subjective. Think of it like this: when you’ve gone to a traditional massage establishment, have you only ever sought deep tissue therapy? Or have you tried a bunch of different techniques with varying intensities?
In my case, deep tissue is a must have! But I know this won’t be true for every other person. It all depends on your specific needs and wants! If you’re like me and love the effects of a deep tissue massage, then by all means consider a massage chair that’s capable of doing deep tissue.
Pretty much the same benefits that come with doing a traditional deep tissue massage:
In your quest to buying a massage chair, height and weight ranges should always be considered. The last thing you wanna end up with is a massage chair that fits way too tight! That being said, the Human Touch Bali can fit a wide range of user heights and weights.
What if you’re outside the height range, or if you exceed 285 lbs? You need to understand that these ranges have been selected by the manufacturer in an attempt to educate consumers before they decide to buy. If you choose to ignore these recommendations, then you risk having a massage chair that won’t fit and function as it should.
This is the main reason for the Human Touch Bali’s hefty price tag! To begin with, what are rollers? And what in the world are 3D rollers specifically!?
Rollers are the most integral component to a massage chair. A well designed set of rollers typically equates to a well designed massage chair, and vice versa. Today there are 3 main roller technologies you can find in a massage chair: 2 dimensional (2D), 3 dimensional (3D), and 4 dimensional (4D).
To give you an idea, here’s what a typical set of rollers look like:
3D rollers operate and move in 3 dimensions. They move along the vertical (i.e. up and down), along the horizontal (i.e. side to side), and inward/outward against your back. This last dimension where the rollers are able to protrude in/out is what differentiates 3D from 2D rollers.
Another thing you should know is that the Bali has a 26” roller track. All this means is that the rollers can traverse a total distance of 26” from neck to tailbone. It’s the distance a set of rollers is able to massage.
Here’s something you don’t find in most massage chairs! The Bali’s foot and calf massager can be rotated when not in use, so that the chair becomes like any other sofa or living room chair.
Although this simple design improvement may not seem like much, it is and here’s why!
The Human Touch Bali massage chair has a total of 8 auto massage routines. These are the 7 minute quick immersion, full body recovery, full body relax, full body cloud, shoulder recovery, shoulder relax, low back recovery, and low back relax.
The only thing missing are routines dedicated solely to calf and foot massage. It’s an area Human Touch can definitely improve on!
Targeted techniques are basically mini massage modes that allow you to target specific pain points around the body. To be specific, there’s a total of 21 targeted modes to choose from. The list below goes through them all in greater detail.
The Human Touch Bali is equipped with a technology known as “Acupoint Detection“. It’s a fancy way of saying the chair is able to perform a body scan.
99% of massage chairs sold today all have some type of body scan. With rollers being as advanced as they are, body scan is kind of a necessity. But what’s different about the Bali’s body scan when compared to other chairs?
This comprehensive 9 point feature is what distinguishes the Bali from other chairs!
Last but certainly not least, the Bali comes in 5 different colors: black, espresso, butter, bone, and red.
Even though the color you pick has no effect on functionality, it’s still important that you give it some thought. A few things to think about are:
What you decide to pick is up to you, but don’t do so without first giving it some thought. Trust me when I say aesthetics are more important than you can imagine!
Because the Bali is a chair with 3D roller technology, we’ll be seeing how it compares against similar chairs with 3D rollers. Specifically, we’ll be comparing the Bali to 2 chairs:
A fantastic 3D chair with a whopping 53” roller track span! It’s also good value for money. Click here to see my full review on this chair.
The younger brother to the Pro Jupiter XL! 32” S-Track rollers coupled with 61 airbags make this a beast! Here’s the full review.
There’s hardly any assembly required for the Human Touch Bali. Packaged in the box are three things: the assembled chair, a backrest pad, and a head pillow.
Attaching the back rest pad and head pillow is child’s play! Once that’s done, the chair is pretty much plug and play.
You have 2 options for delivery: free curbside delivery or white glove delivery. Free curbside shipping is basically the no cost option where the chair is shipped directly to your address at the ground level. White glove delivery is an option where 2 people deliver your chair, unpack and assemble it, and then get it running for you.
That being said, it may not be worth spending the extra $$$ on a chair like the Bali, since it already ships pre-assembled in the box. And how heavy is the box? 224 lbs, which is about 101 kg. That’s definitely a 2 or 3 person lift!
With the foot ottoman rotated inwards, the Human Touch Bali measures 56” long, 29” wide, and 45” high.
Since this chair is not equipped with any space saving recline feature, I would recommend you allocate at least about 1 foot (12 inches) of clearance from the backrest to the wall.
This one’s pretty easy to answer! Usually I have a hard time giving recommendations because the competition is so tight. Final verdict:
And here’s why:
So what should you instead consider?
Out of all the 3D chairs in the market, it’s my favorite! If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, the Pro Executive is your next best bet!
