Lots Of Cool Technology In This One!

The Human Touch Bali is an impressive massage chair that features 3D rollers, 8 auto programs, 21 targeted techniques, and a whack of patented Human Touch technology!

For those of you who don’t know, Human Touch are a US based massage and wellness company. They’ve been in the game for the last 4 decades!

Over the last 40 years, Human Touch have received tons of recognition and awards. In fact, they’re one of the only massage chair manufacturers to be recognized by the world federation of chiropractic for being a valid supplement to back therapies!

7 Cool Things About The Human Touch Bali Massage Chair!

#1 It’s Capable Of Delivering A Vigorous Deep Tissue Massage!

70-75% of massage chairs are unable to deliver deep tissue massage. Because of its advanced roller technology (more on this below!), the Human Touch Bali is an exception!

Should you only consider massage chairs capable of deep tissue intensities?

It’s subjective. Think of it like this: when you’ve gone to a traditional massage establishment, have you only ever sought deep tissue therapy? Or have you tried a bunch of different techniques with varying intensities?

In my case, deep tissue is a must have! But I know this won’t be true for every other person. It all depends on your specific needs and wants! If you’re like me and love the effects of a deep tissue massage, then by all means consider a massage chair that’s capable of doing deep tissue.

What are the benefits of having a chair that can do deep tissue?

Pretty much the same benefits that come with doing a traditional deep tissue massage:

  • Alleviation of Pain---Specifically chronic neck, shoulder and back pain.
  • Improves Mobility & Movement---Important for both the old and young!
  • Reduces Stress & Anxiety---As do all massages!

#2 It’s Got Awesome Height/Weight User Flexibility!

In your quest to buying a massage chair, height and weight ranges should always be considered. The last thing you wanna end up with is a massage chair that fits way too tight! That being said, the Human Touch Bali can fit a wide range of user heights and weights.

Specifically, it can accommodate anyone from 5’3-6’5 ft weighing up to a maximum of 285 lbs.

What if you’re outside the height range, or if you exceed 285 lbs? You need to understand that these ranges have been selected by the manufacturer in an attempt to educate consumers before they decide to buy. If you choose to ignore these recommendations, then you risk having a massage chair that won’t fit and function as it should.

If you’re outside the height/weight range, I strongly advise you to consider something else!

#3 It’s Equipped With State Of The Art 3D Roller Technology!

This is the main reason for the Human Touch Bali’s hefty price tag! To begin with, what are rollers? And what in the world are 3D rollers specifically!?

Rollers are to massage chairs as hands are to a trained therapist!

Rollers are the most integral component to a massage chair. A well designed set of rollers typically equates to a well designed massage chair, and vice versa. Today there are 3 main roller technologies you can find in a massage chair: 2 dimensional (2D), 3 dimensional (3D), and 4 dimensional (4D).

To give you an idea, here’s what a typical set of rollers look like:

What Are 3 Dimensional (3D) Rollers?

3D rollers operate and move in 3 dimensions. They move along the vertical (i.e. up and down), along the horizontal (i.e. side to side), and inward/outward against your back. This last dimension where the rollers are able to protrude in/out is what differentiates 3D from 2D rollers.

It’s because of this inward/outward roller protrusion that the Human Touch Bali is capable of delivering deep tissue massage!

Another thing you should know is that the Bali has a 26” roller track. All this means is that the rollers can traverse a total distance of 26” from neck to tailbone. It’s the distance a set of rollers is able to massage.

#4 The Foot Ottoman Can Be Rotated!

Here’s something you don’t find in most massage chairs! The Bali’s foot and calf massager can be rotated when not in use, so that the chair becomes like any other sofa or living room chair.

Here's What It Looks Like When In Use!
Here's What It Looks Like When Rotated!

Although this simple design improvement may not seem like much, it is and here’s why!

  • It Saves A Ton Of Space!—Which is paramount if you only have limited space in your home!
  • It Blends In!—The tucked in ottoman makes the massage chair look like any other piece of living room furniture!

#5 Awesome Selection Of Auto Routines & Targeted Techniques!

The Human Touch Bali massage chair has a total of 8 auto massage routines. These are the 7 minute quick immersion, full body recovery, full body relax, full body cloud, shoulder recovery, shoulder relax, low back recovery, and low back relax.

How do these 8 modes differ from one another?

  • They Differ Based On Region Of Focus—The full body modes are focused on the entire body, whereas the shoulder and lower back modes are more specific.
  • They Differ Based On Overall Intensity—All the recovery modes are a lot more intense than the relax modes.

The only thing missing are routines dedicated solely to calf and foot massage. It’s an area Human Touch can definitely improve on!

But wait, that’s not all! There’s something known as targeted techniques.

Targeted techniques are basically mini massage modes that allow you to target specific pain points around the body. To be specific, there’s a total of 21 targeted modes to choose from. The list below goes through them all in greater detail.

#6 It Scans Your Body Beforehand!

The Human Touch Bali is equipped with a technology known as “Acupoint Detection“. It’s a fancy way of saying the chair is able to perform a body scan.

99% of massage chairs sold today all have some type of body scan. With rollers being as advanced as they are, body scan is kind of a necessity. But what’s different about the Bali’s body scan when compared to other chairs?

Acupoint detection scans and maps specific points on your neck, shoulder, and back. Specifically, it measures the entire length of your back to 9 different points!

This comprehensive 9 point feature is what distinguishes the Bali from other chairs!

#7 It Comes In 5 Different Colors!

Last but certainly not least, the Bali comes in 5 different colors: black, espresso, butter, bone, and red.

Human Touch Bali Black
Human Touch Bali Bone
Human Touch Bali Butter
Human Touch Bali Espresso
Human Touch Bali Red

Even though the color you pick has no effect on functionality, it’s still important that you give it some thought. A few things to think about are:

Placement
Where will you place the massage chair? If it’s in a living room area, maybe you’ll wanna pick a color that blends in with the rest of your furniture. You don’t want it to stand out like a sore thumb!
Cleaning
What colors do you think will “appear” dirtier with time? The lighter ones or the darker ones? To me every tiny speck is more visible on lighter shades, which is why I always opt for darker furniture.

What you decide to pick is up to you, but don’t do so without first giving it some thought. Trust me when I say aesthetics are more important than you can imagine!

Human Touch Bali Massage Chair Pros & Cons!

What I Like (AKA Pros)

The Fact That The Foot Rest Can Be Rotated!
One of my favorite things about this chair is the foot rest design. Specifically, the foot rest’s ability to rotate inwards when not in use. Again, this isn’t one of those things that affects the chair’s functionality. It’s important because for one it saves a ton of space, and two it adds to the chairs aesthetics. Now I know some people may not be too concerned with these things, but for those who are, it becomes a game changing decision!
The Foot Rest Sleeves Can Be Removed & Washed!
This one’s definitely a big deal. I can tell you from the experience of owning a massage chair, the foot massager and its surrounding areas tend to get a little dirty. Well I should say smelly more than dirty! The fact that Human Touch have designed washable sleeve covers is absolutely brilliant. It’s about time someone took notice and improved the design. Either that, or I’m just really filthy! Which is an extremely valid point!

What I Don’t Like (AKA Cons)

The Price Is Way Outta Whack!
By far the biggest turnoff with the Human Touch Bali is its hefty price tag! In my honest opinion and experience, this chair should not cost $4,999. Heck even $4K for this chair is overpriced. When we go through the comparisons, you’ll see why!
The Roller Track Could Be Longer
For a chair that costs so much, it’s disappointing to only see 26” of roller stroke. The limited roller stroke in a way makes the overall massage experience restrictive, and that’s because roller massage comes to an end when the rollers reach the tailbone.

How Does The Bali Compare To Other Massage Chairs?

Because the Bali is a chair with 3D roller technology, we’ll be seeing how it compares against similar chairs with 3D rollers. Specifically, we’ll be comparing the Bali to 2 chairs:

Titan Pro Jupiter XL

A fantastic 3D chair with a whopping 53” roller track span! It’s also good value for money. Click here to see my full review on this chair.

Titan Pro Executive

The younger brother to the Pro Jupiter XL! 32” S-Track rollers coupled with 61 airbags make this a beast! Here’s the full review.

Does The Human Touch Bali Require Assembly?

There’s hardly any assembly required for the Human Touch Bali. Packaged in the box are three things: the assembled chair, a backrest pad, and a head pillow.

Attaching the back rest pad and head pillow is child’s play! Once that’s done, the chair is pretty much plug and play.

What About Shipping & Delivery?

You have 2 options for delivery: free curbside delivery or white glove delivery. Free curbside shipping is basically the no cost option where the chair is shipped directly to your address at the ground level. White glove delivery is an option where 2 people deliver your chair, unpack and assemble it, and then get it running for you.

White glove delivery is definitely worth considering when buying a massage chair!

That being said, it may not be worth spending the extra $$$ on a chair like the Bali, since it already ships pre-assembled in the box. And how heavy is the box? 224 lbs, which is about 101 kg. That’s definitely a 2 or 3 person lift!

What about dimensions? How much space should I reserve prior to placement?

With the foot ottoman rotated inwards, the Human Touch Bali measures 56” long, 29” wide, and 45” high.

Since this chair is not equipped with any space saving recline feature, I would recommend you allocate at least about 1 foot (12 inches) of clearance from the backrest to the wall.

The Million Dollar Question: Should You Buy The Human Touch Bali Massage Chair?

This one’s pretty easy to answer! Usually I have a hard time giving recommendations because the competition is so tight. Final verdict:

NO YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THE HUMAN TOUCH BALI MASSAGE CHAIR!

And here’s why:

At $4,999, the pricing is way outta whack!
26” roller stroke is way too restrictive!
No heat therapy on a 3D chair is a crime!

So what should you instead consider?

IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING FOR THE PRO JUPITER XL INSTEAD!

Out of all the 3D chairs in the market, it’s my favorite! If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, the Pro Executive is your next best bet!

That’s it from me! I hope you got something out of this review post. If you enjoyed reading, please consider sharing on the socials. Leave me a comment if you need to know more about any of these chairs!
