Because that’s exactly what the Infinity Evoke is! It’s a budget chair designed for the everyday user who doesn’t care to have anything too fancy.
If you’re new to the world of massage chairs, the Infinity Evoke could be a great first chair to consider. For now let’s look at 6 of the main features of the Evoke, and later on we’ll see how it compares against other entry level chairs!
As we go through this list, i’m gonna assume your massage chair knowledge is limited. Therefore I will do my best to fully explain the technology so that it’s easy to understand. If you already know most of this stuff, feel free to skim through and jump ahead!
It’s always hard to describe massage chair rollers to someone who has never used a massage chair before. But one thing you should always remember:
Because the rollers are responsible for massaging the shoulders, neck and entire back, utmost attention must be given to design and function.
Currently there are 3 main roller technologies: 2D, 3D, and 4D. 4D is the most advanced, and 2D is the least. However, that doesn’t mean 2D chairs suck or you shouldn’t consider them! The biggest difference between the 3 technologies is intensity.
But let’s not lose track here. Our focus for this chair is 2D rollers, so let’s talk about 2D in greater detail!
When we talk of rollers being 2D, we really mean to say they function in 2 dimensions. In other words, they can move up/down along the vertical, and side to side along the horizontal. The image shown above depicts what 2D roller movement looks like on a massage chair.
On the subject of rollers, there’s 2 things you need to understand: roller type and track. Concerning the Infinity Evoke, we already know that the roller type is 2D, so now let’s spend some time trying to understand the roller track!
The Infinity Evoke massage chair has 30” S-Track rollers. 30” is the total distance the rollers will traverse from neck to tailbone. Some massage chairs have an extended stroke where the total distance is much larger (53” is the max I’ve seen!). S-Track is a fancy way of saying the rollers tightly conform to the spine’s natural curvature, which by the way happens to be an “S” shape!
First things first, just what in the heck is zero gravity? Sounds like some sort of weird space slang. Truth be told, it is!
As they measured and analyzed various data from the astronauts sitting in this position, it became clear that zero gravity is the position in which the body is at its most unstressed and relaxed state.
It obviously didn’t take much longer for the idea to be marketed and commercialized across a range of industries. Nowadays you find zero gravity car seats, office chairs that are zero gravity, and even major airline companies are planning to consider adding zero gravity seats to the mix!
Zero gravity is one of those features everyone should take full advantage of. It isn’t just a recline position that looks and feels cool! It’s scientifically proven to yield positive results to the human body, even without massage! So if you massaged in zero gravity, you can only imagine how effective the rollers and airbags will be at working your body!
Pretty much all the massage chairs currently in the market use a combination of airbags and rollers to provide massage. The Infinity Evoke is no different. 38 airbags have been placed in various parts of the chair. Majority of these airbags are located in the leg and feet region.
First things first, you’ll wanna adjust airbag intensity before beginning any massage routine. You have 4 levels of intensity ranging from mild to strong. Here’s a tip for all you newbies who’ve never used a massage chair before:
Unless you like being squished to death then you can ignore this advice! Once you select your desired air intensity, go ahead and select a massage routine, sit back and relax! As the routine runs, you’ll notice the airbags simultaneously inflate/deflate, this is completely normal. Only increase the intensity when your body can handle it! If it’s uncomfortable, no harm keeping it at a low setting.
Yup you heard that right! Because of something called “space saving recline”, the Infinity Evoke only requires a total of 4” clearance from the back of the headrest to the wall.
It’s actually really simple. As the chair reclines backward, the base slides forward. The beauty about this design improvement is that it’s stupidly simple. It’s always these kinds of improvements that end up making a massive difference though!
The Infinity Evoke has a total of 6 auto programs: these are recovery, healthcare, pain relief, rocking, stretch and full body.
And this goes for all Infinity chairs, not just the Evoke! Perfecting a stretch routine on a massage chair takes some effort. It’s about getting all the different components such as the rollers, airbags, and recline to function in harmony as one, and it’s not something all massage chairs are able to do effectively!
In addition to the 6 auto modes, you can create a customized routine to target either a specific area, or the entire body.
In manual mode, you have the ability to:
In addition to all this, you can also alter airbag intensity, and which airbags you would like to have activated. That is, if you only want to target a certain area of the body such as the legs and feet, this is something you can alter on the remote control.
Here’s where the Evoke really stands out! Most massage chairs come equipped with dual spinning foot rollers on either foot.
That’s 3 times the rollers you can find on any another chair! But what’s the benefit of having many foot rollers? How does 6 rollers vs. 2 rollers affect massage?
More foot rollers translates to a larger foot coverage. As a result, foot massage becomes a lot more comprehensive by covering the toes, soles, heels, and ball of the feet. With 2 rollers you’re mostly only able to massage the soles, and nothing else.
There are a total of 8 airbags on each foot that serve 2 purposes:
Last but not least, there’s also a heel rubber on either foot. The presence of this heel rubber along with the motion of the rollers helps provide pain relief to the heels and can even help relieve plantar fasciitis!
One thing I’ve always loved about Infinity chairs is how simple they are to operate. To be specific, i’m talking about the remote control.
Don’t know about you, but I really like how the buttons are laid out, and how everything’s simple to understand. There’s only one thing that would make this even better:
Some of Infinity’s other chairs that are Bluetooth friendly can be controlled via smartphone by downloading an app. Unfortunately this isn’t possible with the Evoke as it’s not Bluetooth friendly.
By default the Evoke is set to massage for 20 minutes. However, this can be changed by 10 minute increments to a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 30 minutes. So really your choices are 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes. A little restrictive if you ask me, but by no means a deal breaker!
When comparing massage chairs, you always wanna make sure you’re comparing like to like (or as they say “apples to apples!”). If you’re in the market for a chair with 2D rollers, only draw comparisons against chairs with 2D rollers. If you’re in the market for a chair with 3D rollers, only draw comparisons against chairs with 3D rollers. You get the point!
That being said, we will be comparing the Evoke to 3 other chairs that all come equipped with 2D S-Track rollers:
I’ve written reviews on all 3 chairs previously. You can check them out by clicking the links above!
All things considered, I think the Infinity Evoke is a fantastic chair with a very honest price tag! The fact that it only costs $2,299 makes it very hard to argue against!
Sure, all you had to do was ask! Ask and you shall receive!
But this code only works on massage chair deals. Why only there? Well now’s a good time to tell you that i’m an affiliate of massage chair deals. All that means is if you buy any massage chair from massage chair deals using one of my links, I will receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. If you enter the code above when using my link, you’ll save 5% off the listed price!
However, it’s totally your call. If you find a better deal elsewhere, go for it by all means! I’ll consider it mission accomplished for me if you’re able to find a chair that meets your needs…..irrespective where you end up buying from!
If you buy the Infinity Evoke from massage chair deals, you get a 5 year standard warranty, which is pretty sweet! I’m not sure if you get the same deal anywhere else to be honest. It’s worth looking into….
Shipping is one of those things that most people cheap out on. I won’t lie, I was one of those people too. It’s only when I bought my massage chair did I change my ways!
So what are your options and what does it all boil down to? There’s 2 options: curbside shipping and white glove delivery.
