It’s Only Been 6 Months Since Titan Released This Chair!

The Titan Pro Ace II was officially released in July of 2019. It’s a stylish, modern looking unit that packs the latest in massage chair technology.

Definitely the chair’s standout feature are its 3D rollers that traverse from neck to hamstrings on an extended L-Track!

But is this chair worth the $$$, or are there other chairs in the market with better “bang for your buck”? Don’t fret because we’re gonna dive into the details of the Pro Ace II and see how it really stacks up when put to the test. For now, let’s look at 6 interesting features about this chair!

#1 3D Rollers Make For An Intense Massage!

Things can get pretty darn confusing if you’re new to the world of massage chairs. It’s all the lingo we use to describe various features! In any case, let me try to explain rollers in a manner that’s easy to understand.

First things first, what are rollers and why do we give them so much importance when reviewing and buying massage chairs?

Rollers are a mechanical contraption that consists of doughnut shaped discs mounted on a spindle. Below is an image of what most rollers on massage chairs typically look like.

Rollers are the most integral part of a massage chair. They are the one single component that’s responsible for delivering 70% of massage to the body. The remaining 30% of massage are delivered by airbags (we’ll talk about airbags later).

That’s why all the fuss around rollers!

Currently there are 3 different types of rollers you can find on massage chairs. 2D rollers are the most basic and are usually found on the entry level, inexpensive units. 3D rollers are slightly more complex and can be found on your intermediate massage chairs. 4D rollers are the creme de la creme, the most sophisticated of them all, and can be found on your $6-10K high end massage chairs!

What are the differences between each roller type?

I won’t talk about 4D in this post as I think that digresses from the discussion. Instead let’s look at how 2D and 3D rollers function, and how they differ from one another!

Just as 3D rollers have eclipsed 2D in terms of functionality and technology, so too have L-Track chairs against their less advanced S-Track counterparts.

#3 Are 12 Airbags Enough Or Is This A Shortcoming?

The Titan Pro Ace II comes with a total of 12 airbags. These have been strategically placed in the hands, arms, shoulders, legs, and feet area of the chair.

The bigger question: are 12 airbags sufficient or is the chair lacking in compression massage as a result of having fewer airbags?

Osaki, Titan, & APEX are basically the same company. One initiative/optimization I’ve seen on these brands of chairs is a reduction in airbag counts, while at the same time an increase in airbag surface area coverage. If you ask me, this is perfect for 2 reasons!

Are the 12 airbags are shortcoming? In my opinion, absolutely not!

Important to explain this as most folks have deemed this a shortcoming without considering why Titan even implemented this in their design.

#4 Space Saving Recline Gives You Placement Flexibility!

Another cool design improvement that’s common to most Osaki/Titan/APEX chairs is something known as space saving recline.

Space saving recline is a chair’s ability to slide forward on its base as it reclines backwards!

The idea is to minimize the space required from the back of the chair to the wall. For the Titan Pro Ace II, this distance is 6”. That is, you require a total of 6” from the chair’s back to the wall.

If you have a big house with a ton of space, this feature is probably gonna mean nothing to you. However, if you’re like most of us and tight on space in your home, then this can make a difference between whether you buy one chair from another!

#5 The 6 Auto Modes Are Well Crafted!

Finding the right massage chair is all about balance if you ask me. On one end, a good chair will have advanced technology capable of performing a variety of techniques under various intensities. On the other end, a good chair should also have considerations for user experience.

And by this I mean a good number of auto (and even manual!) modes that’ll keep things fresh and exciting over the years!

Titan have done a fairly decent job here by including 6 pre-programmed auto modes into the Pro Ace II. These are:

Note: You are able to vary the intensity to some degree for any of the 6 modes above. I recommend you first start with a low intensity and then build your way up.

#6 Massage In Zero Gravity!

Pretty much a common in 95% of massage chairs is a feature known as zero gravity.

Zero gravity is a recline position in which the human body experiences the least stresses and strains!

The spine is at its most relaxed state, and the lungs have increased capacity. What does the zero gravity position look like? Kinda like the massage chair is almost inverted!

What does massaging in zero gravity feel like? Based on my experiences (on my chair – which isn’t the Pro Ace II!), zero gravity is my standard whenever I use my massage chair! It just feels way more relaxing than sitting in a normal position.

The Titan Pro Ace II has 3 steps of zero gravity, so a user can basically customize the angle of recline to their liking. It honestly doesn’t make too much sense to me, and i think this is one of those marketing things!

There is only one “true” zero gravity position and that’s when the torso forms an angle of about 128 degrees with the leg.

That being said, I just don’t see how you can have multiple stages of zero gravity. In any case, it’s not a shortcoming of the Pro Ace II in any way.

How Does The Titan Pro Ace II Compare Against Similar Massage Chairs?

Ever heard the phrase “compare apples to apples” or some variation to that? That phrase becomes especially important when comparing massage chairs!

It would be wrong to compare a 2D chair with a 4D chair! When deciding on a massage chair, we must always compare like for like!

Because the Pro Ace II is a 3D chair, we will seek to compare it against similar 3D chairs on the market. One of my favorite models currently on the market is the Osaki Pro Admiral, so we’ll be comparing it against that as well as the Titan Pro Jupiter XL. The Pro Jupiter XL is also an incredibly high performing chair with a plethora of features!

Which of the 3 chairs should you buy?

Based on current pricing, the Titan Pro Ace II is significantly cheaper than the other 2, so this is a definite consideration. The biggest factors based on the above table that really make a difference when it comes to buying are the following:

Is it worth spending the extra $$$ to instead buy the Pro Jupiter XL or the Pro Admiral?

It’s a tough question to answer. It really comes down to how okay you are with 6 auto modes versus 16! If you don’t see yourself using the chair’s auto modes as often, or you prefer the flexibility of manual mode, maybe you ought to save yourself a chunk of cash and opt for the Pro Ace II.

If you’re not okay with the fewer auto modes, then maybe you need to look into considering the Pro Admiral or Pro Jupiter XL.

I will say that all 3 are fantastic options and can deliver one heck of a massage!
