It’s been about a month since I received my Iced 2.0 in the mail and I’ve been using it ever since pretty much. There’s a ton I want to talk about, so if you’re interested in the Hush Iced 2.0, definitely read through the entire post to get maximum benefit!
Before we get right into it, I feel it’s important to discuss initial impressions in dealing with Hush and the process from ordering to shipment. For me this is also part of the review process, so let’s get into it without further ado!
Unlike most folks, I did not come to know about Hush through Dragon’s Den. Strangely enough I saw their ad pop-up on my Facebook page and it looked interesting to me so I clicked to read their story. If you’re not a morning person, you’re gonna want to check out below! Although I don’t know if I agree with the “warm burrito”!
And also I didn’t want to make a decision on an impulse so I allowed myself several months to sleep it over and clearly think it through. After reading many reviews on the Iced 2.0, coupled with research of my own, I knew this was the weighted blanket for me.
Ordering was pretty easy, it only takes a few clicks! The hard part and more of a frustration more than anything for me was to wait 2.5 months to finally receive the blanket. I think the reason it typically takes so long is that these things sell out like hot cakes, and so stock is always an issue.
The wait was totally worth it because I ended up receiving the Iced 2.0 on the second snowfall of the season, and trust me when I say that night’s sleep was magical!
All in all pretty impressed with the packaging the Iced 2.0 comes with!
I received a free face mask with mine which was actually pretty decent quality. We still have COVID restrictions where I live so this new Hush mask will definitely come in handy, that’s for sure.
Included in the box are the following:
The centerpiece of course is the Iced 2.0, so that was the first thing I got my paws on when I unboxed. I should warn you (even though you’ll likely figure it out) that this thing is not light, so when you work it out of the box, be sure to take your time and get someone to help you if you need to. Generally I think one person should be able to carry it no problem.
The hard part! If there’s one con with weighted blankets, it’s that they’re an absolute pain to place/remove from the mattress.
Other than it being a pain to place because of the weight (which is definitely expected!), there isn’t anything else to note. The queen size fitted perfectly on my queen size mattress with some additional overhang on either side.
Exciting! There’s a lot to talk about in this section, so I’ll break it down to give you a better idea.
One of the biggest appeals of the Iced 2.0 is that it’s a weighted blanket designed for the “hot sleeper”. Because of it’s viscose bamboo design, the fabric is cooling and this is immediately evident when you first touch it.
So how does it feel to touch? I don’t know why but the material kinda takes me back to silk! Silk is a lot more smoother and lighter of course, but this feels eerily similar. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me!
However, this never ended up being much of a problem because I found that the Iced 2.0 paired really nicely with my warmer winter duvet which I simply placed above the Iced 2.0. Here’s what my setup looks like!
When summer time rolls around next year, I’ll simply remove the additional blanket and use the Iced 2.0 alone.
It’s definitely an exciting/nervous experience using a weighted blanket for the very first time!
Different because the first night wasn’t really pleasant or unpleasant. I think if I’m entirely honest, it’s a bit of both as crazy as that sounds! The weight on your body feels good, but it does take a few days to adjust. If you’ve ever used a weighted blanket, this probably will be a moot point for you.
Coming back to the first night of sleep…it was absolutely awesome! I can’t remember the last time I slept so well. I only slept 6.5-7 hours that night, but I got up with a spring in my step, and it was definitely noticeable!
Suffice to say, after the first night I was totally sold on the Iced 2.0 and weighted blankets in general. So yes the Iced 2.0 not only passed the litmus test, but did so with flying colors!
You know how when you do something and it feels great for the first time, but then you don’t notice it so much after? This is exactly my long term experience with the Iced 2.0! I don’t know if this makes sense or if you can relate in any way.
I guess one way to prove this theory is to go back to my old blanket for one month and then switch again, but…something within me knows there’s no way in hell that’s happening!
The main thing for me is that I sleep well in the few hours I sleep each night. If that has been achieved, I am golden! But yes if I’m entirely honest, I don’t feel anything new when I wake up in the morning. I’ve been using this thing continuously so there is that.
This is a definite improvement from my “non-weighted/regular” blanket which takes a ton of tossing and turning before getting any sleep vibes.
All that being said, first month impression….still very impressed! Comfort, sleep experience, and weight are all a 10/10!
In the one month I’ve been using the Iced 2.0 I’ve not had any issues with cleaning. Then again I don’t do anything other than sleep in my bed, so it’s not like there’s food/coffee that ever goes there!
Aside from this I have nothing to add for cleaning and maintenance. I might update this section in another 6-12 months (if needed) as I continue to use the blanket.
Yes, no maybe?
I’ll be brutally honest with you here because for me the most important thing is not making a dime, but to provide sincere recommendations that’ll actually help people. This is very much the whole and sole of this site.
I hope having this visibility will help you decide what’s right for you. The way I see it, you can do a ton of research and see where you end up, or you can take a risk and sometimes it might pay off. For me in this case it certainly did!
Because I’m an affiliate of Hush, I do have access to special perks & privileges! One of these is to offer a 10% discount to all my readers!
Oh before I forget, there’s tons of awesome reviews of the Hush Iced 2.0 on their site which you can also check out. Some of the reviewers have done video reviews where they talk about the Iced 2.0 and how it’s changed their lives. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for more diverse opinions!
Should everyone own a weighted blanket? This is an interesting question. When I first started looking into weighted blankets, I saw that there was a lot of folks who claimed that these blankets helped improve their anxiety, reduced stress levels, helped them sleep better etc.
I’m not saying this out of pride or arrogance, simply stating it is all, because you also may not suffer from these things and therefore think a weighted blanket may not be helpful. I can’t tell you how wrong you’d be and how much you’d be missing out!
You don’t have to be suffering from something to have to use a weighted blanket. You can be totally fine and still enjoy it!
You can make it as complicated or as simple for yourself. If you prefer the former, that is to complicate it, you can confuse yourself by watching thousands of YouTube videos with different people saying different things!
Not saying there’s no value to this, more so that there’s a fine line between confusion and educating yourself well enough to make the right buying decision. And this is a great segue to below!
Reading reviews and doing your research are absolutely critical when buying just about anything! This is not what I’m talking about. What I’m suggesting is to not confuse yourself a million times over by watching wayy too many videos or reading just as many posts!
This one is really hard to gauge without having previously tried a weighted blanket! Like for me I picked 20 lbs and I’m very light and also very small!
So how do you figure out how much weight to pick? A simple tip which might help with this: place yourself under 3 or 4 blankets and see how you feel! A weighted blanket will not be like this exactly, but this is at least somewhat similar.
If you feel uncomfortable, that might suggest that you prefer a less heavier weighted blanket. There are other tips and tricks out there, but I don’t believe any of those work too well.
One reason I was so quick to purchase the Iced 2.0 is because of Hush’s 100 night sleep guarantee.
I think this is massive, because if you don’t like the way it feels, how much it weighs, or anything else, you can return it no questions. It’s also great to see this sort of thing because it tells consumers how much confidence the manufacturer has in its product.
If you end up considering something other than the Hush Iced 2.0, you wanna make sure that there’s some sort of return policy. I recommend steering away from brands that don’t offer this.
Here in North America, clothing can be returned/exchanged, no problem. Blankets are the same too!
For every 1 Iced 2.0 sold, Hush will donate a blanket to a person in need! I don’t know about you, but this hugely influences how I see a brand/corporation.
Another major brand which does this kind of thing is the shoe company called TOMS. They sell those trendy “slip on” style shoes. I bought a pair a while ago and they were also doing some form of donation.
Anyways, if you want to read more about Hush’s blanket donation program, click here!
I’m no expert in the field of weighted blankets, nor am I claiming to be. However, I really wanted to write this review because it’s been a long time since I last came across a product that impressed me so much!
And that’s a wrap! I hope you got some value out of this review post. If you have any unanswered questions, please don’t hesitate to drop them down below! Till next time!
