One of my favorite chairs in recent years is the Titan Pro Jupiter XL. I thought Titan did a phenomenal job with the overall design, massage experience, and general operation.
But even still, I have a soft spot for the Pro Jupiter XL to this day! To me it’s still a beast of a chair. Titan have taken the Jupiter XL, gone back to the lab, mixed things up, and the end result is what we’ll be reviewing today: Titan Jupiter LE Premium. FYI, the LE stands for limited edition.
Before we get too detailed about how this new chair compares with its old predecessor, let’s look at it in some more detail to see what makes it tick. Below are 4 key features to take note of!
A standout feature of the Pro Jupiter XL was that it’s user flexibility was off the charts! It could accommodate anywhere from 5’0-6’6 ft and 285 lbs! Absolutely insane!
Not as good on the lower height limit, but still pretty decent when compared to other chairs. I’ll say one thing about the Jupiter LE Premium: it is very much a massage chair designed for taller people, although mid and smaller size works too!
What are 3D rollers and how do they function? To better understand this we need to look at 2D rollers as well. First things first, 2D stands for 2-dimensional and 3D stands for 3-dimensional. Essentially it describes the motion of the rollers and in what manner they are able to move.
I think just about anyone you ask will all say the same thing: 3D rollers are more superior than 2D rollers, no question. Does the cost justify the improved massage experience? This is where different people may have different opinions.
This will for sure be one of the things that immediately draws people’s attention to the Jupiter LE. 80 airbags is definitely on the higher side as far as airbag numbers are concerned. I’m more used to seeing 30-40 airbags max, but this is something else.
It can be both, believe it or not. It’s definitely a good thing if you’re a fan of compression massage. However, I know not everyone is (including myself sometimes), so having more airbags won’t be a “game-changer” if this is you.
It can also be a bad thing because more airbags equals more valving, parts, and therefore ultimately more power consumption. Power consumption might not be too big a concern if you don’t plan on using the chair all that much.
I should say I am not opposed to the 80 airbags, more so surprised if anything. Typically the newer chairs from Titan/Osaki have all been designed with an optimized airbag system. That is, fewer airbags without sacrificing surface area coverage, so you don’t really lose out on compression massage.
One thing I do like is that the Jupiter LE has head airbags, this is really cool to see and often missed on other chairs!
Which is exactly the same number of auto modes the older Pro Jupiter XL had! Honestly, I’d have liked to see more auto modes since this is supposed to be the new and improved version of the Pro Jupiter XL.
Anyways, it is what it is. 10 auto modes that can be easily accessed directly from the remote control. The 10 modes are:
It’s a good mix of auto modes with something for everyone. If you want something mild, you can select sleepy or vitality. For more intense, go with recovery and power. You can also do a full body stretch or something more focused like the waist mode.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can deep dive into manual mode! Going into manual mode means you basically have the flexibility to adjust settings to suit your needs. You can adjust intensities and you can also select from any of the 6 massage techniques shown above.
I typically don’t use manual mode too much. On my massage chair, I mostly use auto modes. What can I say…the less messing around, the better for me! I’m lazy that way!
One of my favorite things about the Jupiter LE is that the heat therapy is on point! You have heating elements on the calves, waist, and the seat, but that’s not even the best part.
The reason this is so is because the rollers can traverse an extended distance from the neck all the way to the glutes and hamstrings (this is called an L-Track), and so just as you get extended massage coverage, you get extended heat coverage!
The application of heat loosens up the muscles thereby making them more pliable and therefore easier to manipulate and massage.
You’ve seen this if you’ve ever had an oil massage before. For one, it feels a lot more pleasant because of the reduced friction, and two, it warms your muscles up making it easier for the therapist to massage and therefore more effective in general.
Since Titan are essentially calling the Jupiter LE a new “reinvented” version of the Pro Jupiter XL, let’s see how they both compare against each other!
As you can see, there are some areas where it’s quite evident that the Jupiter LE is more superior, and then there are areas where old is gold proves correct!
For example, the Jupiter XL has better user flexibility, but the Jupiter LE has better rollers with heat functionality. Both chairs do share a number of similar features as well: for example, they have the same number of auto modes, foot rollers etc.
Based on current pricing, and considering that both chairs cost about the same (the Jupiter XL is about $500 cheaper), I recommend the new Jupiter LE!
Hang on just a minute now! Thus far we have compared the Jupiter XL and the Jupiter LE, but there are tons of fantastic 3D chairs in the market. The Jupiter LE isn’t about to get a free pass on this blog! Now let’s see how it stacks against some of my favorite 3D chairs out there!
Understanding how the Jupiter LE performs against other chairs is crucial, because it allows us to make an informed buying decision.
Some of my favorite 3D chairs at this moment in time are:
You know that saying “the proof is in the pudding”? This is what the above comparison exactly demonstrates! Don’t get me wrong I really do like the Jupiter LE, but the pricing just doesn’t make sense, even if it’s got great user flexibility, heated rollers, and voice activated control. And all 3 are Titan chairs so you know I’m not biased!
Alright that’s all from me, feel free to drop your burning questions/comments down below! Take care and I’ll see you in the next one!
