For those of you who don’t know, Titan fall under the same umbrella as Osaki and APEX. In other words, the folks who design and manufacture Osaki chairs are the same guys who manufacture Titan chairs.
Obviously this is a good thing, because unlike many other massage chair manufacturers, these guys always look to improve upon existing models. This is especially true with the Pro Amamedic! It’s the result of design improvements to previously released 3D chairs, improvements such as new generation brushless motors (more on this later).
Let’s look at the key features of the Pro Amamedic, and then later we will do a comparison to see how it fares when stacked up against similar chairs!
Rollers are the heart of a massage chair. Therefore, it’s only fair we spend enough time evaluating and reviewing them. Understanding the technical aspects (dimension capabilities, roller type) is important, but it doesn’t end there.
Of course it’s not that simple if there aren’t any massage chair retailers close to your area. If you do have the opportunity to try a chair before buying, I highly recommend doing so! This is the best way to protect your investment and ensure 100% that what you’re buying is exactly what you desire and expect.
If it’s not possible, then you should research the chair a lot more, read up on reviews like this one and then make your decision.
For those of you who might now know, there are 3 main types of rollers you can find on massage chairs today: 2D, 3D, and 4D rollers. To understand 3D, you need to understand 2D. We won’t talk 4D rollers today, as they’re not relevant/important for our discussion, but just know that they are more superior than 3D and 3D rollers.
Typically, 2D chairs are considered entry level and 3D chairs are intermediate and sometimes advanced. This isn’t always the case, but most times it is.
The 3D rollers on the Pro Amamedic can traverse a total of 52” from neck to hamstrings. This is about as long of a range you can typically find on massage chairs today. Having this extended coverage is awesome because it means the rollers can massage right down to the bottom of the hamstrings!
There’s absolutely no difference between L/SL-Tracks. Someone somewhere decided to one day toss the word “SL” into the mix, and by doing so confused the heck outta most people myself included! An L-Track is the exact same as an SL-Track, and both types offer the tight “S” contour to the spine.
If you’ve watched the promotional video for the Pro Amamedic, you’ll have noticed they mention brushless motors. Why is this important?
Personally speaking, noise has never been much of a problem for me when it comes to massage chairs. Yes there are some chairs that run loud, but it’s never been an issue per say. Therefore the real benefit of brushless motors for me is the increased life span that comes from reduced friction.
Auto modes are pre-programmed massage routines designed for users who don’t wanna mess around with manual settings. If all you want is to jump in the chair and do nothing other than press a few buttons to get a proper massage, auto modes are your best friend!
Massage techniques are the actual strokes a chair’s rollers and airbags are able to perform. An auto mode typically consists of many different massage techniques. A few examples of massage techniques include kneading, tapping, rolling, and clapping!
Considering its price, I am a little disappointed with seeing only 6 auto modes on the Pro Amamedic. When we get into the comparison/recommendation sections, I’ll talk about this in more detail!
Space saving technology has quickly become a staple on majority of Osaki/Titan/APEX chairs. Some chairs are better than others in that they don’t require too much clearance from backrest to wall.
Space saving is one of those things that’s absolutely critical to you, or on the flipside absolutely useless. If you’re short on space, you definitely need a chair that saves a few inches during recline so you don’t need such a large clearance. For these people, space saving becomes extremely important.
One of the things you need to properly understand before buying any massage chair is where in your home the chair will be placed. The best way to do it is to have dimensions of the space, but even having a rough/general idea should be sufficient.
Similar to space saving recline, extendable foot rests are becoming more and more the norm on the modern day massage chair.
A better way to improve user flexibility, particularly when it comes to height, is by designing the foot rest to be extendable. Because of the 6” extendable foot rest on the Pro Amamedic, it’s able to accommodate individuals ranging from 5’0-6’3 ft.! It’s also able to accommodate a maximum body weight of up to 240 lbs.

Yes it does. I did not talk about airbags much, because I wanted to highlight some of the other features. The Pro Amamedic comes equipped with a total of 14 airbags located in various areas of the chair where roller massage may not be possible (feet, calves, arms, hands, and shoulders).
When it comes to airbags, more doesn’t necessarily mean better. It’s actually really cool what Titan have done with this chair and the reduced number of airbags. They’ve cut down the number of airbags but still have been able to maintain the same surface coverage. Essentially, what you end up with is a more energy efficient chair requiring less electrical and mechanical parts, and it still offers the same coverage!
Aside from the ones already mentioned, you should know that the Pro Amamedic is equipped with Bluetooth friendly speakers. Most people are pretty stoked to have speakers on a massage chair, but it doesn’t excite me all that much.
Not that I won’t take it of course! It’s just that my primary focus is more centered around how well this chair can perform massage. Bluetooth speakers, while nice to have, do not in any way contribute to massage performance.
Like 99% of massage chairs on the market, the Pro Amamedic will only massage up to a maximum of 30 minutes at any given time.
You also have the ability to set massage duration anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes with 5 minute intervals i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20 minutes etc. All of this can be configured on the remote control.
Moment of truth! Should you get the Pro AmaMedic or consider/look at other 3D chairs?
We’ll be comparing the Pro Amamedic to Osaki’s Pro First Class and another Titan chair, the Titan Prime 3D.
If we’re talking strictly performance, then the best chair from all 3 is the First Class. In terms of user experience, it eclipses the other 2 chairs. If we’re talking price, the Prime 3D is the most attractive chair. That leaves us with the Pro Amamedic which is somewhere in between!
If you’re looking for a budget 3D massage chair, my recommendation is to go with the Prime 3D. It’s a fantastic unit at a fraction of the cost of other 3D chairs. If price is not so much a concern, then the First Class is probably what you should lean towards if you can afford to do so.
Nothing against the Pro Amamedic, it’s still a very good chair and I do recommend it for those who want something between the First Class and the Prime 3D. However, I recommend the Prime 3D and the First Class over the Pro Amamedic.
