The Pro Omni is a new chair that was only recently released (around April 2018). A few key features about this chair:
- 2D L-Track Rollers—Most people mistakenly think the Pro Omni has 3D rollers.
- Price—It currently costs $3,499 on massage chair deals.
- Intensity—On a scale of 1-10, the Pro Omni massages at an overall intensity of about 7-8.
Osaki have added some new improvements to the Pro Omni. For example, the foot roller system has been revamped, the airbag technology is more efficient, and the body scan improved. Let’s now look at 6 key features about this chair. Later on, we’ll do a comparison against other 2D chairs, and i’ll give you my final verdict and whether the Pro Omni is worth considering.
6 Key Features You Need To Know About The Osaki OS Pro Omni Massage Chair!
#1 2D Rollers With An L-Track
Buying a massage chair can be a confusing task. There’s literally so many different technologies, it’s enough to make your head spin!
Understanding the different technologies is important because it helps you to distinguish one chair from another!
Let’s start off by trying to understand 2D rollers. Specifically, what are 2D rollers and how do they function?
2D rollers are the most basic and simplest roller type you can find in a massage chair today. True to their name, 2D rollers move in 2 dimensions: up/down and left/right. The image above depicts exactly this.
Are 2D rollers restrictive in what they can do?
In 2019, there’s a huge buzz around 3D/4D chairs. Everyone wants one! There’s no question that chairs with 3D/4D rollers offer the most complete massage experience, but that doesn’t mean we should overlook 2D chairs just because the technology is basic and old! Yes, 2D rollers are restrictive in some ways:
- In terms of overall massage intensity, 2D rollers cannot compete with 3D/4D rollers.
- In terms of being similar or close to a human massage, 2D rollers fall short.
So yes 3D/4D rollers are superior than 2D rollers, no question about it. However, that’s not to say 2D rollers are bad. If you’re not looking to spend much, and don’t care about high intensity massage, then a 2D chair is all you need! I hope this makes sense. It’s a tricky thing to understand, especially with all the marketing around 3D/4D rollers.
Since we’re on the topic of rollers, let’s talk about the Pro Omni’s roller track.
Roller track is simply the distance a set of rollers can travel from the neck downward.
The Pro Omni in particular has a roller track of 50”. This large track span allows the rollers to traverse from the neck all the way right down to the hamstrings.
The animation above illustrates this. You might be wondering what the term “L-Track” means.
L-Track is simply a type of roller track technology in which the rollers are able to travel over an extended range.
Let’s look at some of the common roller tracks in more detail.
If you combine both of these roller tracks, you get something called an “SL-Track”. This is currently the best roller tracking technology you can find in a massage chair because you get the best of both worlds i.e. tight contour and extended tracking!
#2 30 Airbags
The Pro Omni has a total of 30 airbags placed in areas where the rollers are unable to reach. As can be seen in the image below, two-thirds of the airbags are located in the lower extremities i.e. the calves and feet.
What are airbags and why are they important?
Airbags are essentially pouches that inflate with compressed air during a massage. They are important for a number reasons:

The Pro Omni has 6 pre-programmed massage routines.
- Wake Up—A full body mode that’s perfect for mornings. Expect a light percussive massage!
- Deep Tissue—If you’re looking for a high intense, knock your socks off type of experience, this is it! A full body massage at high intensity.
- Sleeping—Just like the “Wake Up” mode, this full body routine consists of light tapping techniques.
- Relax—A full body routine that uses kneading and tapping techniques to work the neck and lower back specifically.
- Stretch—Definitely my favorite from the 6 modes! This full body stretch program utilizes inflated airbags to twist and stretch the entire body.
- Calm—Another low intensity mode that makes use of various techniques to massage the entire body!
Each of the 6 routines can be activated by the push of a button on the remote control.
#4 It Comes With A Spring Loaded Foot Ottoman
In order to accommodate a wide user height range, Osaki have designed and incorporated a spring loaded foot ottoman to the Pro Omni. How does it work? If the foot ottoman is not comfortable in its current position, simply exert pressure to extend the ottoman.
#5 It Only Requires 4.7” Clearance From The Wall!
One thing I love about Osaki chairs is that they’re designed to fit in tight areas with limited space. The Osaki OS Pro Omni massage chair is no different to this regard, and as such only requires 4.7” clearance from the backrest to the wall!
This space saving feature becomes particularly important for those who are living in small apartments, or for those with space constraints. How does it work? As you recline the chair backward, the base slides forward. And the cool things is all this happens automatically with no user input!
#6 2 Rows Of Spinning Foot Rollers!
When I bought my massage chair (which isn’t a Pro Omni by the way), I took a decision I regret to this day. I bought a chair that did not have foot rollers.
Nothing short of a big mistake on my part!
Only after trying a chair with foot rollers did I truly discover how important they are! That being said, everyone should seriously consider only getting a chair that has them. You’d be doing a big disservice to yourself otherwise!
The Pro Omni has 2 rows of kneading foot rollers located on both sides. The foot airbags work in tandem to provide an air compression massage while pushing the feet down, so that the rollers can effectively massage the soles.

Let’s go through some of the key differences.
Key Difference #1—Price
For those of you wondering, the prices for each of these chairs at the current time on massage chair deals are as follows:
- Osaki Pro Omni---$3,499 on massage chair deals.
- APEX Pro Ultra---$2,995 on massage chair deals.
- Titan Pro Alpine---$3,995 on massage chair deals.
- Pro Maxim---$3,299 on massage chair deals.
APEX Pro Ultra is the cheapest, and Titan’s Pro Alpine is the most expensive. Both the other chairs are sandwiched in between.
Key Difference #2—Roller Track & Type
Another key area worth discussing is the roller track and type.
- Osaki Pro Omni---Employs a 50” L-Track system.
- APEX Pro Ultra---Employs a 50” L-Track system.
- Titan Pro Alpine---Employs a 51” L-Track system.
- Pro Maxim---Employs a 47” SL-Track system.
All 4 chairs have a similar track span, with the exception of the Pro Maxim which is slightly shorter. However, the Pro Maxim does have an SL-Track which is a better tracking system than the standard L-Track.
Remember, SL-Track is a combination of that tight “S” contour along the spine, along with the extended track span. On the contrary, L-Track is just the extended track span!
Important to keep this in mind!
Key Difference #3—Overall Intensity
When it comes to overall intensity, it’s always a good idea to look for a chair that’s capable of performing at both low intensity and high intensity. In other words, you want a broad intensity range. On a scale of 1-10:
- Osaki Pro Omni---Has an overall intensity of 7-8.
- APEX Pro Ultra---Has an overall intensity of 8-9.
- Titan Pro Alpine---Has an overall intensity of 7-8.
- Pro Maxim---Has an overall intensity of 6-8.
Which of the 4 chairs do you think offers the best intensity range?
In my opinion it’s the Pro Maxim. You get a moderate intensity at 6 that goes all the way up to an 8 which is fairly strong. If you’re in the market for a deep tissue massage chair, you should consider the APEX Pro Ultra, as it has the highest overall intensity from all 4 chairs.
Key Difference #4—Auto Modes
Auto modes are kinda like video games. The more you have, the less bored you are! That being said, the chair with the most number of auto modes is Osaki’s Pro Maxim.
Pro Maxim has a staggering 12 auto modes to pick from!
Some of these are actually pretty interesting. For example, the “Older Vitality” routine is particularly great for seniors who want a low intense experience. There’s another routine called “Kidney Vigor” that places special emphasis on the waist and lower back to massage areas around the kidneys. Without a doubt, Pro Maxim is the clear winner here!
Key Difference #5—Calf Rollers
I’m a little dumbfounded to see that the cheapest costing chair is the one that has calf rollers! Yup the APEX Pro Ultra is the only chair from all 4 that comes with built in calf rollers.
But don’t calf airbags basically do the same thing?
Nope. Nada. Negative. Calf rollers are wayyy superior to calf airbags and that’s because they provide a dynamic massage. Air compression on the other hand is static. While an inflated airbag does improve circulation to an extent, it’s nowhere close to what a roller can do. Rolling massage forces the blood to flow in the calves and legs. It’s just much more efficient!
Key Difference #6—Extendable Foot Ottoman
The purpose of an extendable foot ottoman is to accommodate tall users specifically. The foot ottoman extends either manually or automatically. In the case of manual, the ottoman is usually spring loaded and will extend only when the user exerts pressure by pushing the feet downward. In the case of automatic, the chair will automatically extend the ottoman upon completing a leg scan.
Automatic foot rest extension is better than manual/spring loaded!
That being said, the only chair that does have a spring loaded extension is the Pro Omni. All other chairs have the leg scan coupled with auto extension.
Key Difference #7—Height/Weight Range
This is something that may or may not matter to you.
Height/weight restrictions comes down to whoever plans on using the chair!
If it’s multiple users, then it would be wise to consider each of those users’ height/weight and check to see that they closely align with the chair specs. That being said,
- The chair with the best height range is the Pro Alpine (5’0-6’5 ft.).
- The chair that’s able to accommodate the most weight is the Pro Maxim (285 lbs.).
If I had to pick the worst height/weight range, it would be the Pro Omni (5’0-6’2 ft. & 240 lbs.). Again, this may or may not be an issue for you!
Osaki OS Pro Omni Massage Chair Final Verdict: Buy Or Pass?
The moment you’ve all been waiting for! Is the Pro Omni worth investing in, or should you consider something else?
PASS!!! There are better chairs to choose from.
