I Held Off Writing A Review About This One!
After several months of being indecisive, I’ve finally decided to write a review on the Titan Pro Summit massage chair. By the way, it’s also referred to as the Osaki Pro Summit.
In case you didn’t know: Osaki & Titan chairs are made from the exact same company.
Maybe that’s why the names are sometimes used interchangeably. In any case, the Pro Summit is a chair that’s been around for a while (released in 2016). That being said, lots of people have had the opportunity to try out the chair and see how it performs.
As far as functionality is concerned, I have no issues with the Pro Summit, and we’ll talk about the various features in the next section.
My concern with the Pro Summit is only one thing: it’s pricing!
I’ve been monitoring the price of the Pro Summit on various online retailers for quite some time now, and I can’t say I’ve seen any drastic changes. To be honest, it’s a little disappointing especially since the chair is 3 years old and counting. And it’s one of the reasons I held off writing a review because I saw no value in doing so.
Why did I change my mind now?
I came to the realization that writing reviews isn’t all about highlighting the most coolest technology and devices, it’s also about letting you know which ones to pass on. Alas, someone has to do it, and that someone is me.
Well by now, you probably know my final recommendation for the Pro Summit, and it’s unfortunate because I usually like to do this at the end of the post. In any case, I think it’s still worthwhile to walk through all the features of the Pro Summit, and then tell you exactly why I think the Pro Summit is a pass. Alright without further a do!
Titan OS Pro Summit Massage Chair: 5 Key Features
#1 It’s Got 2D Rollers With A 50” L-Track
Rollers are to massage chairs, as engines are to cars. They’re one of the key components that play a huge role in performance and functionality.
Titan’s Pro Summit is equipped with 2D rollers capable of traversing a total of 50” from the neck to glutes.
First things first, what are 2D rollers and how do they function?
2D rollers are the oldest and most basic of roller technology. However, basic does not mean inadequate or lacking. Don’t be fooled into thinking that. 2D rollers continue to be around for a reason: they are extremely easy to design and they give an incredible massage! So how do they function? 2D rollers move up/down vertically along the back, and side to side along the width of the back.
So we know what 2D rollers are and how they work, but what’s this thing called L-Track? When we say a chair has L-Track rollers, we’re basically talking about the shape the rollers take on and the total distance they traverse.
The biggest advantage with L-Track rollers is the extended tracking range you get. It’s well worth spending the extra money for a chair that gives you roller massage on the glutes and hamstrings. That’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth!
#2 Body Scanning & User Flexibility
Body scanning is an area Titan chairs typically excel in. They’re one of the few manufacturers that take body scanning & user flexibility very seriously.
How does body scanning work? The chair’s built in computer will scan a user’s back and then map various points on the neck and back to ensure the rollers accurately target the right areas. It also detects user height by extending and then retracting the automatic foot ottoman.
Why is body scanning useful? Because it allows different users to each enjoy a customized massage experience without having to make any manual adjustments. It also contributes to a chair’s user flexibility.
Speaking about user flexibility, what exactly do I mean when I say “massage chair X has great user flexibility?”
User flexibility comes down to 2 things:
And the Titan Pro Summit does not disappoint when it comes to user flexibility! It’s able to accommodate a height range of 5’0-6’5 ft, as well as a maximum weight of 265 lbs.
#3 Next Gen Airbag Technology
This is another area where Titan/Osaki/APEX brands have really taken it up a notch. Rollers are your primary component, no question, but airbags aren’t far behind. Most people think airbags are only useful for providing a compression massage and nothing else, but this isn’t true.
Airbags are just as important for pinning the body down, thereby ensuring no erratic movements!
This is important because in order for the rollers to function effectively, the entire body needs to be completely still, and this is exactly where airbags come into play.
That being said, what is next gen airbag technology anyways? Next gen airbag technology is about designing a massage chair with a focus on reducing airbag numbers, while maintaining airbag surface area coverage. And why is it important to reduce airbag numbers you ask?
As a general rule of thumb, the more the airbags, the higher the power a chair will consume.
And that’s because more airbags require more valves, more pumps, and subsequently more energy to run. With the Pro Summit, Titan have optimized the airbags down to 30. Considering the Pro Summit is a fairly large chair, 30 airbags is quite an achievement!
Where are these 30 airbags located?
There are a total of 12 airbags located on the top half of the chair. 6 of these are waist airbags which compress and massage the waist and thigh area. 4 of these are upper shoulder airbags responsible for massaging the shoulder area, and the remaining 2 are arm airbags that inflate to massage the forearms and hands.
The remainder of the airbags are located in the lower half of the chair. Specifically the upper and lower leg areas, and the foot ottoman.
Note: Power consumption for this chair is 175 Watts. Not too shabby!
#4 Comes With 6 Standard Auto Modes
The 6 auto modes can be selected pretty easily from the remote control. The 6 routines are as follows:
- Night Mode—A routine specifically designed for use prior to bedtime. It consists of light tapping motions.
- Calm—Low intensity routine that’s particularly great when kicking the day off.
- Snooze—Not sure why it’s called snooze, but in any case this mode targets the waist and thighs.
- Body Stretch—Full body stretch that makes use of both the rollers and airbags. Expect high intensity!
- Deep Tissue—The highest intensity auto mode from all 6. This one’s a no-nonsense full body deep tissue massage!
- Traditional Chinese Massage—A full body comprehensive routine that uses both the airbags and rollers to massage the back, arms, and feet.
As far as auto modes are concerned, this list is pretty standard based on my experience. Although it is nice that Titan have included a full body stretch mode!
#5 It Can Do 6 Different Massage Techniques
The rollers in the Pro Summit have been programmed to perform a total of 6 different massage techniques. These are kneading, tapping, shiatsu, rolling, combination, and punching.
If you want to really get the most out of a massage chair, you’ve gotta take control in manual mode! In manual operation, the Pro Summit gives you the option of pinpointing the rollers exactly where you want them. You can also select one of the 6 massage techniques mentioned earlier.
In addition to this, you can also modify:

If Not The Titan Pro Summit, What Massage Chair Should You Buy?
The Pro Summit costs a whopping $4,795 on massage chair deals currently. Spending this much money on a chair with 2D L-Track rollers just doesn’t make any sense!
You might as well consider other options! There are 3 chairs in particular I recommend you look at instead.
These are Infinity’s Meridian, Osaki’s TP 8500, and APEX’s Pro Ultra. All 3 chairs come equipped with extended L-Track rollers capable of massaging all the way down to the glutes.
So which of these 3 chairs should you buy?
All 3 are fantastic options to be honest. It all boils down to how much you’re comfortable spending. Current pricing on massage chair deals as of 11th July 2019:
If your budget is on the lower side, consider the Meridian. If you’re okay spending about $3K, the other 2 chairs are great options!
