Welcome back to yet another review post. Today we’ll be looking at the Human Touch ZeroG 5.0; a fairly new addition to Human Touch’s extensive massage chair lineup. There’s a ton of features we’ll talk about later in the post, but for now you should know:
What makes the ZeroG 5.0 so special is that it comes fully equipped with 3D rollers!
Generally speaking, it works like this: chairs with 2D rollers are the cheapest, 3D chairs are more expensive, and 4D chairs are the most expensive.
Let’s Talk Intensity For a Minute!
Overall intensity is an important factor to consider when buying a massage chair. To understand this better, you need to evaluate what intensity means for you personally. Maybe you’re someone who has to have deep tissue for various reasons (pain, mobility issues etc.), or maybe low intensity just doesn’t cut it for you? Important you understand this clearly before splashing the cash!
The ZeroG 5.0 massages at a moderate overall intensity.
Which is a tad surprising to be honest! Why you ask? You expect to see deep tissue intensity on a 3D chair, because the rollers have the ability to protrude in and out. I’m more used to seeing low to moderate intensities on a 2D chair!
What About User Flexibility? How Does The ZeroG 5.0 Perform?
User flexibility is about how well a massage chair is able to accommodate a variety of users. There’s 2 things to talk about specifically: height range and maximum weight load. The larger the height range, the more “flexible” a chair is to different users.
The ZeroG 5.0 can accommodate users from 5’0-6’2 ft., weighing a maximum of 286 lbs.
Not too shabby, but I can see how this chair might not comfortably fit someone who’s over 6 feet. If you’re 6 foot and over, my advice is to seriously consider alternate options!

#1 3D Rollers With FlexGlide Technology!
We touched on 3D rollers earlier in the post, but how do they actually work?
As far as technology is concerned, 3D rollers are fairly new and have only been around for a couple years. That being said, 3D rollers are an improved version of the old 2D roller system. 2D rollers move in 2 dimensions: they move up/down vertically along the back, and they move left/right horizontally across the back. 3D rollers have the exact same 2 dimensions and 1 more. In addition to the vertical and horizontal motions, 3D rollers can also protrude inward and outward. This third dimension enhances the overall massage experience by closely mimicking the movements of an actual massage therapist.
The rollers on the ZeroG 5.0 can traverse a total distance of 26” from neck to lower back. We often refer to this as roller stroke or roller track!
What is FlexGlide? FlexGlide is a technology common to Human Touch massage chairs. It’s responsible for reducing the overall friction between the rollers and the back.
If you’ve ever used a Human Touch chair before, you’ll immediately notice how smooth the rollers feel on your back. If I had to describe it, it feels similar to an oil massage. Less friction, less pinch, and incredibly comforting!
#2 Warm Air Technology
Warm air technology is simply a form of heat therapy. Most of the massage chairs I’ve reviewed to this point feature heating pads located in the lumbar and feet areas. Warm air technology is a little different. This type of technology makes use of “warm air” that circulates heat around the back.
Personally speaking, I prefer warm air over the conventional heating pads found in most chairs!
That’s because the distribution is so much better with warm air than it is with heating pads. Heating pads are great if you just wanna focus on one area specifically, but not so great otherwise!
#3 Customized Massage Modes! (BodyMap Pro)
This is one of my favorite things about the ZeroG 5.0! We all have pain points, or areas of our body that specifically cause us grief. Like for me, my neck muscles always give me problems. Maybe it’s because of the way I sleep, or because of the posture I hold. Either way, a focused/customized massage mode on the neck would do me wonders!
And that’s exactly what this chair offers!
There are 7 different customized massage modes to select from. Each mode targets a specific “zone” in the body. For example, zone 1 is focused on the neck and upper back area, zone 2 is focused on relieving the shoulders, and so on. The image below depicts this better.
Each of the 7 modes can be activated directly from the remote control. Each mode will run for a total duration of 7 minutes. In addition to these 7 customized massage modes, there are 4 auto modes (refresh, relax, retreat, and sleep) that you can access from the remote control as well.
#4 Ability To Recline To Zero Gravity!
It’s the very reason Human Touch decided to name the chair “ZeroG” to begin with!
Zero gravity is a popular feature you can expect to find in pretty much every massage chair!
The research surrounding zero gravity seems to indicate that it’s one of the most optimum positions for the body to be in. Stresses and strains are at a minimum, circulation is enhanced, as is lung capacity and breathing. So because of all this, zero gravity is a fantastic position to enjoy a massage in!
Speaking from experience, the hype is real!
I use zero gravity pretty much all of the time on my own massage chair and I can say from experience, the difference is noticeable! Not only is the massage more pleasant, but I feel less pain from the rollers! In the chair’s standard upright position, it’s easy to feel the rollers almost digging into your back. Not the case for zero gravity!
#5 CirQlation Figure Eight Calf Massage
Another one of my favorite things about the ZeroG 5.0 is something called CirQlation Figure Eight.
Simply said, this is a proprietary massage technology in which the calves are massaged in an upward wave like motion.
This is a significant design enhancement! Most massage chairs only employ foot/calf airbags that inflate/deflate. The problem with this is that the massage motions are never dynamic. What I mean is that the airbags are only ever compressing in/out. There is no up/down motion. With CirQlation however, the massage motion is dynamic in that there is upward/downward and side motions. Essentially, blood is being forced in all these different directions.
This chair also has a foot massager. Located on the bottom of the foot ottoman are 2 foot rollers. These provide a rolling, kneading type massage to the bottom of the feet.
One last thing about the foot ottoman design: the foot rest can be completely rotated into a traditional ottoman. This is great because it allows the flexibility of removing the foot and calf massage elements for those who don’t want it.
And of course there’s also an aesthetic component to it!

How Does It Stack Up Against The Competition?
The best way to gauge how well a chair performs is by doing a comparison against similar chairs. In this case, we’ll be comparing the ZeroG 5.0 to another Human Touch chair (WholeBody 7.1), as well as a Titan chair (Pro Executive). All chairs come equipped with 3D rollers.
Another fantastic unit from Human Touch. It boasts 3D rollers with a 25” S-Track. It’s almost exactly the same size as the ZeroG 5.0. Only shortcoming is it’s unable to massage the calves and feet at the same time.
One of the best 3D chairs I’ve reviewed thus far. 3D rollers, 61 airbags, 3 foot roller rows, and much more. Best thing about it however is its remarkable user flexibility. It’s able to accommodate users ranging from 4’11-6’4 ft!

Well well well. Time to answer the big question: should you or should you not buy the ZeroG 5.0?
AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS POST, NO YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THE ZEROG 5.0!
And that’s because the Pro Executive is currently on sale for about the same price. Functionality and performance wise, the Pro Executive is a far superior chair to the ZeroG 5.0. If both chairs currently cost about the same, it makes way more sense to get the better chair!

#1 Colors
There are 3 color choices for the ZeroG 5.0: black, bone, and espresso. Black and espresso are darker colors, whereas bone is a lighter cream shade.
Is color important when it comes to buying a massage chair? Yes, more so than you think. There’s a few things to think about:
#2 Assembly
There’s hardly any assembly to worry about. The 2 major items included in the box are the chair base and head pillow.

Hello, and thank you for your review. I am a little bit taller than 6’…closer to 6’1″ I am interested in this chair because of its looks and I understand that this is a smaller chair and that, although the extending foot/calf massager should accommodate my leg length, I shouldn’t expect the rollers to reach as high on my neck as I might like. I can live with that. However, you say in your review that people taller than 6′ will probably find the chair incredibly uncomfortable. Can you please explain why the chair would actually be uncomfortable for me? Unfortunately I am not able to try the chair in-person before making the decision to order it so I have to rely on online reviews for my research.
