Probably The Best Massage Chair Commercial I’ve Ever Seen!

You’re probably wondering why in the world I’m starting a review post talking about a commercial. Well, it’s because this commercial is pretty epic! Watch the video below and see for yourself! (Credit: Ogawa World USA).

If that didn’t make you chuckle, you need help! The father is an absolute boss. He takes one look at the chair, jumps right in, turns it on and gets a massage going.

I sure as hell would’ve at least taken 10 minutes to figure out how everything works!

If you watched through the entire video, you’ve probably realized the Ogawa Touch is a 3D massage chair. If you’re unsure what a 3D massage chair is, don’t fret we will go through all the nitty gritty details later in the post. For now, you should know the following about this chair:

User Flexibility—It can accommodate users ranging from 5’0-6’5 ft weighing up to a maximum of 300 lbs.
Mid End Chair—As far as massage chairs go, the Ogawa Touch 3D falls in the mid range category.
Runs Quiet—It’s definitely one of the more quieter massage chairs you can currently find in the market!

Let’s now look at the chair in more detail. Below are 6 key features to know about the Ogawa Touch 3D massage chair!

Ogawa Touch 3D Massage Chair: 6 Key Features!

#1 3D Rollers w/ A 32” S-Track

You’ve heard the term “3D massage chair” before right? What is a 3D massage chair anyways?

A 3D massage chair is essentially a chair equipped with 3D rollers!

3D rollers are a more recent development in the world of massage chairs. For the longest time, 2D rollers were what you’d find in pretty much all chairs.

What Are 2D Rollers?
2D Rollers Move Up/Down & Left/Right

2D rollers are the oldest and most basic roller technology. They move in 2 dimensions: along the vertical (up/down), and along the horizontal (side to side). 2D rollers are unable to massage at deep tissue intensities.

What Are 3D Rollers?
Not The Best Picture, But You Get The Point!

3D rollers are a step up from 2D rollers in that they have an extra dimension of inward/outward movement. This extra dimension is what allows 3D chairs to be able to massage at deep tissue intensities.

Are 3D rollers more superior than 2D rollers? Yes they are, as the added dimension makes a world of difference when it comes to high intensity massage!

The intensity settings for the 3D rollers on this chair can be adjusted to 6 different levels from light all the way to vigorous. If you’re new to massage chairs, I strongly recommend you start off at a lower intensity first and then work your way up over time.

Ogawa Touch 3D Rollers

As far as coverage is concerned, the rollers are able to extend a total 32” from the neck downwards. Ogawa have designed the rollers to trace or closely follow the spine’s natural “S” curvature, hence the term S-Track!

#2 Double Body Scan Technology

Body scan or body mapping is a feature you can expect to find on most massage chairs. What’s different with this chair however, is something called double body scan.

Double body scan is a feature where the chair’s microcomputer detects, scans and analyzes both the spine and shoulder curvature, to provide the best possible massage experience for each user!

It’s little details like this that make Ogawa one of the best massage chair manufacturers in 2019!

#3 64 Airbags Located Throughout The Chair!

Out of the 32 massage chairs I’ve reviewed thus far, I don’t ever recall seeing a chair that has 64 airbags! The Ogawa Touch 3D massage chair would be a first!

The 64 airbags help keep the body in place so that the rollers are able to effectively massage the neck and back. Airbags are also important for certain stretch routines. Last but not least, pulsating airbags provide a compression massage to adjacent muscle and tissue.

Ogawa Touch 3D 64 Airbags

While it’s definitely beneficial to have so many airbags, there’s also some negatives to be aware of:

Power Consumption Goes Up!—More airbags means more valves, motors, and pumps. All of these additions result in an increased power consumption. 300W for this chair!
The Chair Becomes Heavier!—Not so much because of the airbags, but more so as a result of the increased valving, additional motors and pumps. 250 lbs is what this chair weighs!

#4 Comes Pre-programmed With 8 Automatic Massage Routines!

The 8 auto modes are as follows:

    • Gentle—Low intensity routine that’s awesome to unwind and relax!
    • Therapy—Medium intensity routine that’s great at any time!
    • Vigorous—Strong, deep tissue intensity routine that packs a punch!
    • Swedish—Expect high to deep tissue intensity! If you’re uncomfortable, pick something else!
    • Thai—This one is more so a stretch routine than a massage. It’s your typical “Thai” stretches!
    • Japanese—More so a shiatsu massage than anything. It works particularly well at targeting specific pain points!
    • Relax—Another low intensity routine that works particularly well for mornings!
    • Demo—A demo of all the other 7 modes. A great way to experience everything the chair has to offer!

Accessing any of the 8 auto routines is actually pretty simple. If you watched the very first video at the top of this post, you’d have seen how easily the “father” was able to get a massage going! The auto modes are available on the remote control’s main menu. From there you can pick accordingly.

#5 Whisper Quiet Air Pumps!

Noise is not something I consider when buying a massage chair. It’s actually never even crossed my mind to be honest!

How loud/quiet a chair runs is something that bears no significance to me whatsoever!

However, after giving it some more thought, I realize that noise is definitely something that has the potential to impact others. For example, if you’re going to be placing the massage chair in an establishment such as a spa, or massage clinic, then noise levels become important to think about. But if you live in a house and decide to place the chair in a living room setting, a little bit of noise may not be all that of an issue.

Because the airbags on the Ogawa Touch 3D are powered by whisper quiet air pumps, noise levels remain extremely low!

#6 Bluetooth Compatible Sound System

If you enjoy listening to music while getting massaged, you’ll be pleased to know that this chair has a built in sound system. The speakers are located on the headrest area and can be fully controlled by a smartphone once your device is paired up.

Ogawa Touch 3D Bluetooth Compatible Speakers

Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely nice to have a built in sound system on your massage chair, but it’s not something I specifically go looking for!

And that’s because my primary concern is how effective a particular chair is at giving massage. Bluetooth speakers has no impact to this whatsoever!

Ogawa Touch 3D Massage Chair: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly!

The Good (AKA Pros)

Fantastic User Flexibility!
I really love how Ogawa have designed this chair to fit all short, medium, and tall users with a variety of heights. Specifically, it can accommodate anyone ranging from 5’0-6’5 ft.
That Double Body Scan!
The better the scan, the more effective a massage, and this chair doesn’t disappoint! By scanning both spine and shoulders, it’s able to effectively map an individual’s back!

The Bad & The Ugly (AKA Cons)

20'' Wall Clearance!
This one really disappoints me. I’ve yet to come across a single chair that requires almost 2 feet of wall clearance! It’s especially surprising to see this on a fairly new chair, as most other models are designed to fit in tight spaces.
300 W Power Consumption
This one’s a bit of a double edged sword. The 300 W power consumption can be attributed to the 64 airbags along with its pumps, motors and valves. Having 64 airbags isn’t all that bad though is it!? Decisions, decisions, decisions!

How Does The Ogawa Touch 3D Compare To Other Massage Chairs?

Comparing is one of the best ways to gauge a chair’s performance, as it allows you to see what features competing brands have and at what cost. That being said, let’s compare the Ogawa Touch 3D to 2 similar chairs that also come equipped with 3D rollers. Specifically, we will be comparing against:

Titan Pro Jupiter XL
Pro Jupiter XL Comparison

This is my personal favorite when it comes to 3D massage chairs. Everything about this unit is spot on, right from the extended roller design, all the way down to the price which is incredibly reasonable! All in all, a solid chair!

Titan Pro Executive
Pro Executive

Similar in many ways to the Pro Jupiter XL, but with a much shorter roller track, and as a result, a much lower price tag! This is the ideal chair for anyone who wants 3D rollers but doesn’t want to spend more than $3K. An incredible unit!

Confused What To Buy? Don’t Be!

I’ve been told my comparison section tends to confuse and even disappoint some people. I get it. Your mind is set on a particular chair, and after having read several different review posts, you’re at a point where you wanna pull the trigger. But…..

But…at the same time you want the best possible bang for your buck!

And if you ask me, the Ogawa Touch 3D really doesn’t offer that. If it wasn’t obvious in the comparison section above, let’s again revisit some of the key differences between all 3 chairs!

Price—The Ogawa Touch 3D is the most expensive from all 3 chairs! Pro Executive is the cheapest.
Roller Track—Pro Jupiter outclasses the other 2 chairs with an outrageous 53” L-Track!
Power Consumption—As is the case with price, the Ogawa Touch 3D consumes the most power.
Auto Modes—With a  total of 10 auto modes, the Pro Jupiter XL offers a variety of massage experiences!
User Flexibility—All 3 chairs do pretty well in this department, for both height range and maximum weight.
Heat Therapy—Pro Jupiter XL wins again as it has 3 heat sources (lumbar, seat, and calves).

Hopefully now you can see why I recommend against buying the Ogawa Touch 3D. It’s not that I have anything against Ogawa or this chair, it’s just that I look for the best possible value and I don’t see it in the Touch 3D.

If not the Ogawa Touch 3D, what should you buy!?

MY RECOMMENDATION IS TO GO WITH THE PRO EXECUTIVE OR THE PRO JUPITER XL!

Which one should you get? It’s as simple as this: the Pro Executive runs $2,995, the Pro Jupiter XL runs $3,499, both based on current pricing at massage chair deals. The extra $500 gives you the massive 53” roller track, along with better heat therapy.

However, the Pro Executive does offer some features not present in the Pro Jupiter XL. These include an increased number of airbags, the ability to save customized massage to memory, and last but not least, the 3D rollers on the Pro Executive can protrude a total of 4.7” compared to the Pro Jupiter XL’s 3”.

WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT, IF YOU’RE COMFORTABLE PAYING $3,499, GET THE PRO JUPITER XL. OTHERWISE GO FOR THE CHEAPER PRO EXECUTIVE!

Is There Any Way You Can Save Some Extra $$$?

That’s a great question, and one that needs to be asked more often! Before I give you the good news, I gotta come clean!

If you decide to buy any of the massage chairs (Ogawa Touch 3D, Pro Executive, Pro Jupiter XL) using the links placed in this post, I will receive a small commission at NO EXTRA COST to you.
